I watched the duke game a bit last night and they have some physical players inside and outside... I'm really worried they are going to bully us and play volleyball on the boards. The good news is it's Duke and almost no other teams have their level of player so we will probably be okay most nights.Guerrier was our worst forward defensively last year out of himself, Griffin and Braswell. He really didn’t help us much on that end of the court and the numbers back that up. Not trying to trash the kid, but I think some overestimate his loss.

Have to kick him when he already walked out the door? Low class. He did nothing but work his tail off here. Ever question his effort here? Nope, didn’t think so.Cole is what QG wishes he could be.
If Iregon let’s him shoot 8 3’s/game they will underachieve.Quincy was 2-8 from 3 (not too good) but did lead the Ducks in boards with 12
All Quincy is showing is that he’s not a consistent three point shooter. JB already knew this and he tried to use Quincy’s strengths which made him productive. If Iregon let’s him shoot 8 3’s/game they will underachieve.
Yep...and it's not even close.Cole is the better player. Considerably better

And if he wants to get to the league it isn’t without taking those shots (and making them). He needs to be somewhere he can at least attempt them if his goal is the next level. I don’t fault him for leaving and it will be known soon whether we missed out on him or not, but not going to take swipes at him for putting himself into a position needed to succeed. All Quincy is showing is that he’s not a consistent three point shooter. Jimmy is playing for the name on the front of the jerseyI actually think Jimmy is filling the Guerrier role on this team and not Swider. I would take Jimmy over Guerrier as well. I think Jimmy is better offensively and defensively, and Guerrier is better on the boards.
Looking at Guerrier's game today, he was 3-11 from the field and 8 of those 11 shots came from 3. If the majority of his shots are going to come from 3 this year, than the advantage Jimmy has over him on offense is even bigger.
He is not an NBA calibre player, unfortunate for him but just the way I see it.And if he wants to get to the league it isn’t without taking those shots (and making them). Q is a really good rebounder and should be good for Oregon this season. But Cole is a vastly better shooter, no question. He seems to be able to attack off the bounce as well and grab boards. Let’s hope that continues against better competition.FWIW Quincey tonight 3 points in an Oregon blowout win. 1/6 shooting, 1/4 from 3. 9 rebounds.
I think you’re right, but him taking shots is his only chance, if he hits at a decent percentage this year, then he still has a better chance than if he was here.He is not an NBA calibre player, unfortunate for him but just the way I see it.
Players never make the league by doing things they are not good at.I think you’re right, but him taking shots is his only chance, if he hits at a decent percentage this year, then he still has a better chance than if he was here.
Wishing the best for Quincy - last year per game he averaged 3.6 shots from 3 (31.1%) and 7.9 shots inside the arc (.554). Shooting it more from 3 wasn’t the answer to Quincy improving, it was shot selection (when to use it) and accuracy. That improvement should be done and evident from practice, then used in games.I actually think Jimmy is filling the Guerrier role on this team and not Swider. And... this is why his departure is best for all parties concerned.
We needed him to continue to bang down low, and he (and his handlers/whatever) wanted to "showcase his perimeter game" so he'd be more attractive to the NBA.
He's a bulky shooting guard in height, who has the game of a PF, and wants to show he can be a SF.
That was never gonna fly with JB.
I agree. if duke-kentucky are legit top 10 teams then NCAA is down big-time overall. They have athletes and no pg or shooters. Will be interesting. I tend to think the media overrates them every year. If that's the cream of the crop of college basketball then its going to be an overall down season.
The rest of the ACC looks bad.
Yep, he made the right decision for himself. If he wants to make it to the NBA, it will not be as a power forward. JB doesn't see him as a wing player. Frankly, neither do I. I hope I am wrong, I would love to see him end up in the NBA. He worked his ass off for Syracuse.I think you’re right, but him taking shots is his only chance, if he hits at a decent percentage this year, then he still has a better chance than if he was here.
