I don't buy that. And there's no need to smear the kid -- he played hurt for his, always played hard, and played through injuries without ever complaining. All while never opening his mouth, calling attention to himself, or demonstrating any sort of selfish attitude.
I have zero problem with him wanting to show that he has NBA skills. Doesn't mean that he has them, or that he'll achieve that goal, but I don't blame him for being career-focused. Making the NBA would entail life-changing money.
And in our system, he wouldn't be able to show those skills. So wish him the best, and be glad that we replaced him with JBIII and Swider.
