how do you bench deere for finn when finn's healthy? I think you keep deere at attack and plug finn on the first line middies.

i actually agree with you on this. I like it cause feel english’s production had gone down little bit as thomson was doing two man with english n thompson is great at two man. Feel rhoa or leo don’t pick as well or for english. Grant english playing both ways a lot also prob don’t help. But the two man english n thompson had last year was great at most times. But deere still left few off board he could of had.

Where was the midfield today? rhoa scored early then nothing. Leo once again nothing for 3rd game this year. Plus leo had few bad TO. This team needs everyone to click together. That’s how you beat the top teams n make it to chip weekend(among other things also). Also really need give angelo some faceoffs. Can’t throw guy in cold n expect good results. First one he took he jumped. Need least 1 other fogo to be able to control atleast. Can’t ware down mullen every game.

Great game for the attack.

Midfield is going to be needed against teams that can limit the attack.

lol! Amazing this is being asked considering many of us wanted Deere benched just two weeks ago. Reminder that this is why we are fans and not coaches.

Second midfield was non existent and has struggled mightily the last two weeks against zones. I think Deere goes back to the second line, probably in favor of Cordes. Don’t think there is anyway they split up the first midfield.

Weird paced game in the second with the penalties and clear situations. Took the crowd out of it a little. Nice to see Joey take over and own an inferior matchup. Had some very clutch goals for us down the stretch. Some unfortunate slop in the second half. Unnecessary penalties and bad decisions at times against the 10 man ride killed us. Offense never got into a rhythm and struggled a little with the semi zone.

Again, huge to have Spallina put the offense on his back and get it done. Has been struggling a tiny bit in recent games. Huge for his confidence to be leading the team to a victory, a role that has been more for Hiltz in recent games. Hiltz had an off day and probably should have done more off the dodge. Deere showed why he is out there. Oddly quiet from the middies but that was partially because the semi zone did not give them a lot of room to dodge guys on an island. Still would have liked better shooting from them at times.

Defense overall a solid game. Some trouble picking up guys in transition in the second half. They had a ton of shots but lots of those were ill advised and poor angle. All part of their aggressive style. Go orange!!!!

Don't know that I could say Hiltz had an off day - his hat trick early was critical in building big early lead. One of the biggest takeaways for me was McCool - he had a great start and looked very sharp. This will be great for his confidence going into the pressure cooker of the next 5 games

That’s fair. He did have some nice ones early. Just was a little off with his shot later in the game. And yes a great game for McCool! He has been on a nice little run here. Did not let the Harvard game get to him mentally which is huge.

Looked like Thomson still had a (small) brace on his hand of some sort. Not a doctor but part of me thinks he needs a week out of any sort of cast/brace before he plays. I hope I'm wrong.

Great win. Obviously weren’t going to cover. Life is good.

Off topic but what would it take Silas Richmond to transfer here. Albany is awful!

Deere has played really well the last 2 games but you also have to take into consideration the opponents. Manhattan is well Manhattan and Colgates D is less then stellar. Not taking anything away from Deere he had a great game today but Thomson brings at least some dodging ability and was on a heater before the injur. Hard to see how he doesn't slide right back in once healthy

Agreed, barring injury there not going to mess with the 1st mid line though I do think English could use some runs off to keep fresh with all he's doing.

Your right on that 2nd midline, man their struggles continue. Even though he wasn't having a great year the loss of Birtwistle is really pronounced now. Be it Anderson or someone else they really need to try some new blood there. Id give O'Farrell a run at this point.

Albany is a mess. Marr keeps scheduling like he has the Thompsons still or the Ierlan years, no idea what he's thinking. There not gonna do it soon because Albany somehow got into the tourney last year but you wonder if moving on from Marr has to at least be in consideration. There gonna be under .500 for the 3rd time in 5 years and they were barely over .500 last year and only got so because of the conf tourney and ncaa play in game.

As for Richmond I wouldn't be surprised if he transferred. Hard to see next year being much better for them and as a Sr he probably wants to play for a contender.

The 2nd midfield hasn’t produce the last two games much grant first mid line didn’t produce much this last game either. Yes should get production out of ur 2nd mid line but in my eyes they haven’t really hurt us. They’re not turning it over crazy or just playing bad. They’re more kinda playing to give guys on first line breather without hurting the team it seems. But i also wonder what they ask 2nd line to do. Meaning are they trying to have them continue the fast ball movement n all as first. Which don’t think is really their game. Can have diff ways to attack for diff mid lines.

They all seem to lack little bit of confidence on 2nd midline. Also are we using them to their strengths. Hottle had speed n can dodge. McCarthy has decent size n speed can’t say much on his shooting as he doesn’t take many shots. Cordes has some speed but think he is very good passer n smart with ball. When this line gets on mostly to dish or get looks for the attack least that’s what seems to me. I don’t see hottle / cordes /mcCartht ever invert really. Honestly don’t see we invert much this season with our middies. Would I like to see more out of 2nd line of course but gotta remember have 2 sophomores n a senior who hasn’t seen field much of his career.

As said would help if they produce more but don’t think they have done such bad job deserve to be dis that much. Think when they get on should try to let those guys create their own shot. Either way def think anderson needs to get runs n yea Ofarrell def shows signs of some skills . Think we could explore a 3rd mid line even if just 2-3 runs a game. Something we never do n positive no teams have scout it. Will say do like how mccarthy /hottle both have played both sides or ball decent amount. Think having guys able to do both can go long way.

Thanks for all the updates, we are at dance competition all weekend.
