College Basketball Fanbase Tiers

What do those top line schools all have in common?

Irrelevant football teams. :-(
In the 90’s I’d argue Football and Basketball were pretty close to even ground. As for the other teams on the top line I’m not sure they’ve ever achieved that level we once saw for both sports together.

Another question which would be interesting to quantify is
how many college sports fans have turned to pro sports in light of NIL and the portal. I never thought I'd be in that category, but I've gotten to appreciate the skill level that the pro's bring to the table vs the semi pros at the college level. Still hope for the best for SU, but no longer a fan of college sports.

Right there with you.

I agree. I don't recall ever seeing an empty seat in Indiana's arena. And Louisville had decent crowds when they had single-digit win seasons recently. I might consider Michigan State on that first level also.
Perhaps. Never been there. But I have been to a few arizona games and the atmosphere is electric no matter who they are playing, and its all that matters in Tucson

would like to put the students court side where they're more visible during live broadcasts.
I would like to get the seats on top of the court. Cannot stand that massive space between court and bulk of seats

Indiana would have been Nothing Else Matters 25 years ago. Then a lot of things happened - their team got terrible, Malice at the Palace in 2004 hurt basketball generally, the Colts with Manning made football more popular...and now the football team is in the football championship game. As someone who stops by Crown Point fairly regularly to see family when work takes me to Chicago, the slow but steady change to Indiana sports culture over the last two decades has been apparent.
