I haven't done any formal research but based on watching a significant amount of games it obvious to me that college basketball is not doing well. I'm not sure if it's related to the revolving rosters, a lack of good coaching, declining interest from younger fans, or the fact that product on the floor is really poor.
Regardless, the sport is in a serious downturn.

It’s because the ACC and Big12 aren’t competing money wise with the SEC and Big 10. This is not sustainable for a lot of these programs unless they start putting more money in for coaches,NIL,facilities and more.

It’s almost unwatchable for me. I grew up watching Lawrence Moten and John Wallace grow from freshmen to superstar Seniors. There seemed to be true school spirit amongst the players as recently as 3-4 years ago.

I think that the only solution is one where if a player commits to the NCAA, they need to play three years (like Baseball) before being eligible for the NBA Draft. Let the others go right to the G League.
It won’t solve the issue of transfers and lack of loyalty (from the players and schools) but at least it’s a start.

The NBA will really struggle without a strong NCAA. There are very, very few players with brands showing up at the draft anymore.

I stopped watching us due to a poor product on the court … but I also have no motivation to watch other college bball. If we were still in the Big East then I probably would. That’s part of it. In football I don’t have the same feeling, I’m cool with us playing anyone.

The only basketball worth watching is March Madness and the NBA Playoffs. College hoops is abysmal. I spend far more time watching college hockey and college lacrosse.

I don’t like it at all.

That said…Tv ratings aren’t as bad at this board makes them out to be.

NIL and the portal are killing college athletics.I know I know the poor kids have been abuse for years and it’s about time we took care of the poor abused kids.
Hope everyone is happy now that the athletes are being treated fairly.
I am happy they are treated fairly. Blame the ncaa, not the players.

I think Syracuse should get 10 points for every 3 pointer.

That’s just as realistic happening as what you just posted. Theres a players union that won’t allow that to happen

Across the board, NBA ratings are tanking too

The networks created this problem.

You might not say that if you could see the games they play on the outdoor courts in the park around the corner from me.

Correct me if Im wrong but then why hasn't a team from the SEC or B10 won a NatChamp since 2012?

To be kind going back 44 years those 2 leagues have won 12? Long before what you said had any valid point...So the SEC and B10 have gotten worse since big $$$...

To take that a step further the B10 and SEC have only had 6 of the last 32 Final4 teams!

Spend wisely.
and think thoroughly.

Plus every year we are hammered with the parity in college ball. Resulting from what people have described in this thread mostly portal ànd leaving early.
Flip the SEC and B10! Flip means ☆¥♡♧!
