I think the flurry of opportunities popping up is showing pretty well that there's a delta between what the players had been given and what the players are currently worth.
These are 2 valid points that I am willing to concedeWe haven’t been good since the 90s, so we’re clinging to nothing. Certainly can’t hurt us, so I’m fine with it. And it’s kinda...the right thing to do.
Honorable. These are 2 valid points that I am willing to concede
Yeah I guess the best way to say it is I am not against NIL in principle. I am against how it will be exploitedHonorable.
I'm ok with it because the players will be exploited less.Yeah I guess the best way to say it is I am not against NIL in principle. I am against how it will be exploited
It is equally applied. Any business can pay for NIL of any player at any school. This may actually motivate Congress to get involved to level the playing field. NIL is not going away but it has to be equally applied at all schools. There is a reason there is a salary cap in professional sports. Something will have to be done eventually.
This is what colleges fear. Compensation/disability coverage, unemployment insurance. Unions. A long list.As stated above, if that happens, then athletes become employees. Then it will get real interesting.
I think this is unlikely. NIL money will be nice and all, but I don't see how it'll be in the same stratosphere as pro contract. The top tier players are still going to jump for the draft if they have a plausible path.I don't care. Guys aren't going to want to leave now.

Perhaps. I think it will dramatically increase the level of oversight a university has to exercise to vet who the players are dealing with. This will likely expand the universe of shady characters hovering around athletic complexes. Can anybody with $500 approach a player for a favor? I would think there are going to be a lot of moving parts and a lot of issues in the early days of this new age.I'm ok with it because the players will be exploited less.. There will, no doubt, be some unscrupulous characters who pay players and want something in return beyond a commercial spot or a public appearance.
