Collins backers can’t be serious. Clown show.

Against UCONN and Colgate, brah.

BUT BUT UCONN IS A GOOD TEAM. lol k

Colgate is a bad FCS team. A very bad FCS team.

You’re lying to yourself and that’s okay. It’s part of the deal.
That’s some insane cope. As long as you sleep good tonight, that’s all that matters.

What’s an insane cope? Lol what are you talking about

On the designed run I thought Collin’s looked great. Fast and elusive. His passes looked like there wasn’t much power behind them at times. Not sure what else we saw. Tough first outing for him

I think it’s disingenuous to point to how well Angeli is playing right now (against Colgate…) and comparing it to a rough first drive for Ricky without acknowledging the 2 games of really rough growing pains we were forced to watch.

Angeli is fine,he’s the starter because he’s better than Collins. Ricky did play better after the horrible INT, ran and moved the ball OK. Solid back up. Neither one is great. Carney looked fast but really small to me.

If it’s so easy in light of the competition, then why is back-to-back 400 yard passing games such an unusual occurrence?

Hopefully Carney takes a step next year or we bring in another QB. Angeli is better than Ricky, but Angeli ain’t it either. At best, he’s a JAG. I’m sure some orange bias will have an issue with me saying that and that’s fine but I don’t see it.
Watch McCords first 6 games with OSU and his last 6 games with us

People grow, and he’s starting off an reasonably decent base (starting P4 level at least)

He would probably look a lot better at ND because he has 3 years in that offense. Some of us forget Steve just got here

This, I started to see a zip on that ball last night that I hadn’t seen him throw before in a Syracuse jersey. To me, he is started to run the offense with confidence. Hopefully, Colgate is what Steve Angeli needed to gain that chemistry with the receivers.

I hope so. I’d love to be wrong. I just don’t see it. At all.

Angeli is starting to look more comfortable behind center. It only his four start as a qb. The concern is the Oline protecting him. It’s not a good sign Colgate got pressure. If he has time with the wide receiver he can put up big numbers but Oline needs to really improve which I’m not confident in right now. I did like Washington. Time for him to get more run.

We are trying to escape this season and keep building - Angeli would be top shelf QB in the SEC next year

Love you, IthacaBarrel, but this thread seems unproductive and premature.

He looked AWFUL on that first series -- can't be debated. But then he settled down, and looked better.

How good is he? Not sure -- and competition level certainly factors in. But unless I'm mistaken, this was his first live game action at either school. No need to trash a kid who by all accounts is a good teammate / leader on our squad.

Clearly, Angeli is better / a superior passer, but maybe in another year or so Collins will be a difference maker. His issues seem more about mechanics, like footwork. I think he has some arm talent.

Understood. Good post, was really just busting balls. He’s probably going to be fine but expecting Collins to come in and just be clearly better than Angeli was just ridiculous, absurd really
