Collins backers can’t be serious. Clown show.

Collins played well after he got his feet wet. From what I saw at practice we have 3 QBs that are very talented.
The problem with looking at how they perform in practice is that the defense is awful, so most QBs will look good. I think i said something similar before the season after Angeli was named the starter in a "close battle" but when you have a bad defense you can look like a Heisman contender in practice and have not translate what so ever when it comes to games that count.

You’re quite possibly thee worst judge of football talent I’ve ever experienced. The only accurate words I see in the comments above are “I’m confused.”

Oh wow, I didn't think of it like that!

I love that you call me a bad judge of talent and follow it up with…. Nothing? Nice.

Agree with the first part, but not the second. Me being objective with my opinion of this being a bad team with an average QB isn’t an indictment on my feelings overall. I believe in Fran, I believe he will get us to be a perineal winner

Are you kidding me. In the past we would die for a quarterback with his pedigree . He’s as good as our offensive line allows him! He threw for 286 against Tennessee and followed up with 2 ,417 yard games! We have great running backs and a very good quarterback ! With decent lines we could compete with anyone!! Let’s place the blame where it belongs. We need to get both lines developed and then we will compete at higher levels!

I mean, not for nothing but in the last two games he’s average 43 passing attempts per game, against UConn and a FCS opponent. And you’re right, it starts with the line. With time, he’s an average starting D1 QB.

Thank goodness there's no QB controversy. I hate those. All I knew about Angeli or Collins before this season was Angeli in the CFP where he made some plays on the biggest stage under the brightest lights in college football. I was pleased when he committed to SU and a bit surprised. I just assumed it was due to Collins being injured and not playing in the spring game so it was hard for coach to be all in on Collins. I've now seen Angeli for 3 games and Collins for a few plays. I think Angeli has a little more upside than some give him credit. He's been called a "game manager." Awesome! If we can keep him up right there is plenty of skill players to get the ball to to make plays, plus he's a pretty good athlete himself. I hope to see more of Collins this year too. Preferably when we can play him, not when we have to. That first drive just looked like rust to me. The rest of his time was pretty impressive. He's a different kind of QB but a kind that has lots of success at big time programs. I feel we have a pretty good QB room for this season. Lets enjoy it.
