Confused on the attendance

We know they have sold 22,000 season tickets and we know they only announce tickets sold not people in the building so how was tonight's attendance under 20k?

That's it. But it was a surprise - I was 4,000 off on my guess. Most of the upper deck sold better than it did for a couple November games.
