Congrats: SU Men T&F 2016 ACC Indoor Champions

Congrats to Justyn and the entire team. To think he is just a frosh. amazing athlete. Can he catch a football? ;)

I was worried about the step-up in athletics moving to the higher-profile ACC, but the strides the olympic sports made under TGD are continuing just fine in a better overall league. In two and half seasons our athletes have racked up 7 ACC championships, an outright regular season title, and a co-regular season title.

Just need to get football back on track. Here's hoping Babers and Coyle get it done.

Cheers,
Neil

Gotta give Dr. Gross a lot of credit!

What does this have to do with the football team? Are some of these track athletes planning to play football for SU?

Well as we saw with Butler, the appeal of a solid track program might be enough to convince a FB recruit to come to Syracuse. Would be nice if the FB staff talked about how Ismail and Darius and Monk and Morris all competed in both on their way to the NFL.

Somewhere I hope Darryl Gross is smiling.

He should be smiling.

Say what you want, but the guy truly improved our Olympic sports - track, soccer, field hockey, women's basketball.

We have made a real impression on the ACC - and he deserves much of the credit.

And he presided over the most important development in the football program since the construction of the Dome - the Ensley Center.

As good as the Ensley Center is, this is what it should have been to have the greatest impact on Syracuse Athletics:

The current Manley configuration is doing a poor job for the teams left there. Track has no field/throwing practice areas indoors, so it's amazing that athletes compete in the long/triple/high jumps.

Hopefully moving forward, there will be long-range plans instead of short-term fixes that lead to lots of patching of holes.
