Jesus. This staff is clearly far from perfect, but the length some of you are going to in order to blast them is ridiculous.

First, in reference to Bees' post up above, some kids want to play even of it is only on specials. Womack wanted to play.

Second, there was also an effort to get better players on the field across the board on specials this season. The last few years we used walkons and kids that basically never saw the field. Our specials pretty much sucked and you ended up with Richy Rene (for those paying attention) returning punts and Joey Nassib getting pushed out of bounds on every punt coverage.

This season, Syracuse ranks 19th in special teams efficiency on specials. They've gotten better.

Now as to field goals, punting, etc...

Yeah, I don't think some people get just how badly these kids want to play as true freshmen. It's sort of a bragging rights sort of thing, even if they're only on ST.
