I disagree. The bad form is a byproduct of confidence.
Well you're wrong. If it was a lack of confidence he would have stopped shooting.

No.I disagree. The bad form is a byproduct of confidence.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Then about 60% of G-Mac's shots were lacking confidence, I guess, considering the majority of his attempts seemed to be off balance.Keep laughing. A confident shot is when a shooter steps INTO the shot. TC was fading away. Guess you never coached, huh?
Which goes along with the fact that he was drifting rather than going straight up and down for most of his misses. It's not a confidence issue, and frankly it's kind of foolish to suggest it is. You don't shoot that much if you have no confidence in your stroke. It could be confidence, but that's a basketball cliché for shooters. He was missing side to side, so it's probably something the coaches will get "straightened out."

Wow he was brutal today missing bunnies as well as 3's. Tyler was off too. And we still won!
We disagree. That's fine. I really think his poor shooting was in his head; yeah, he kept shooting, but most of those were wide open looks he needed to take. The fact that he made the one shot as a the shot clock was winding down, helps my point. That was a sot he didnt have time to thing about. Then about 60% of G-Mac's shots were lacking confidence, I guess, considering the majority of his attempts seemed to be off balance.
I will only say this again once. You HAVE to give uncs d some credit. 9 of his 12 3 pt shots were tough shots. He missed 3 easy ones and made 2 of the 9 tough ones. Watch the game again as fatigue led to some of the fading the rest was UNC's defense.
I think overthinking and lacking confidence are two different things here.We disagree. That's fine. He's not gonna be the 50% 3 pt shooter he was in non conference. He's not gonna be the 20% 3 pt shooter he's been so far in conference. He'll have games he goes 2 for 10. He'll have games he goes 4 for 7. In the end he'll finish around 37-40% and we'll be national champs.
I think overthinking and lacking confidence are two different things here.
Again, I disagree. His poor shooting was in his head, thus, overthinking.
He does seem like he is trying to get his shot off quickly, which forces him into taking the off balance ones. Would love to see him to do more shot fakes and blow right by his defender like he did for his first bucket. And really wish he had passed the ball before he missed the bunny.
He could make a living off that pull up two. Thats something andy started doing and it really helped.
Yeah iommi you are one of the biggest fans on here but I think you are jumping the gun a little. If trevor has 3 or 4 clunkers in a row I can see the logic. A couple against miami and unc is a little early brotha.
Well, considering you're the only one with this thinking, and there are about 10 of us arguing the other side, maybe it's in your head.
That's why it's an opinion. It's my opinion. I hope like he'll he shoots the ball great against BC. If he doesn't and you're not concerned about a developing bad trend, then I don't know what to say. Vitale had his Cuse pompoms out today but he referenced Cooney's recent shooting slump repeatedly.
