My view is that Cooney is a shooter. That is his role. He shot the ball really poorly today. Therefore, he failed in his role terribly today. He did some other things well.
It happens. My concerns will be elevated if he shoots poorly against BC because as we saw last year, his shot is dependent on confidence and it would be shaken if he shoots poorly on Monday.
I don't know. If you're going by that definition, then hitting 47% for the first half of the season means he's basically done his job for the year. Are we going to start running into teams who don't bother guarding him? Not likely. Plus, I'd argue that this zone needs all 5 guys playing hard, so everybody has a key role in that way. So cooney was awful shooting the ball and if unc wasn't so hopeless vs the zone, then it could have really hurt us today. But I'm not sure there's much of an argument that he gets an for today's effort
