Klatt's whole argument is based on the computer models.
Sagarin has us at #44, six spots behind TCU who is at #38. TCU is 3-5, and just got beat by Kansas.
Sagarin has 8-0 North Dakota State at #22. I mean, they're an outstanding FCS team no doubt, and could probably compete with almost any FBS team for one game. But the 22nd best team in the country? Come on.
Sagarin also has ND State 7 spots ahead of #29 UCF. So are we to assume, based on that, that the Missouri Valley Conference is better than the AAC? And what does that say for UCF’s win over Pitt, when NDSU didn’t even play an FBS team this year?
Computer models have their place, but there's a reason the playoff isn't determined by computers.
