Nunes posted an article about the 5 SU football games that would have broken social media, had it existed at the time, and the one that immediately came to mind for me was one that did not make his list.

For me, the game that immediately came to mind was the 2002 win over Virginia Tech in the Dome. We had a lousy year but still, Tech was ranked #8 in the nation coming in, with an 8-1 record entering that game, and we won 50-42 in 3OT on a Damian Rhodes run when he reversed fields completely, and scored from 25 yards out. There were more than 1,100 yards of total offense in the game, with over 900 passing yards between the two teams. Wilford had something like 280 yards receiving for Tech, and Tyree had 229 for SU, and Walter Reyes ran for more than 100 yards and three TDs.

I've never been to a game as crazy as that one. So since there's nothing else going on at this point...what's the CRAZIEST Syracuse game you've been to? I have a feeling a lot of people will wind up going with a different VA Tech game...

I would say 2014 Villanova in a negative sense - so strange with Hunt getting ejected and winning on Dixon's fake FG TD. Have to go with the McNabb/Brominski miracle game as the craziest "positive" experience, such a fun memory.

ernest wilford was running wide open all game.
tyree miraculously almost kept up with him.

it was an insane game.

98 va tech was better imo though.

1993 Fiesta Bowl.

With 3:10 left in the 3rd quarter...

SU had a nice 4-5 play drive (ending with a Graves 28 yard TD run) to put SU up 19-10.

Colorado answered with a quick drive of their own to pull within 19-16.

Dar Dar had his "other" famous kickoff return for a TD as time in the quarter ran out.

While not "crazy" from the standpoint of a last second finish or anything, the '87 Penn State game was it for me. Totally bananas, crowd going nuts, the Donnie Mac to Moore 80-yard freeze option bomb to open the game(loudest roar I've ever heard in any stadium anywhere).

Thorough start to finish ass kicking of the inbred village of the damned.

Florida here in the Dome along with Miami(loss)and the sugar bowl.

I wish I'd been there for that game, but I was still in high school in the sticks of Vermont at that point. I got to SU the year after McNabb. So frustrating.

He was tackled at like the 5 yard line...

that colorado team had some talent... kordell, westbrook, charles johnson

wow... i forgot terry richardson wore 44.

Craziest games would be Va Tech in 2002 followed by Brominski Va Tech game.

Worst moments for me - Tennessee, Michigan in 1999, Oklahoma and worst of all Penn State in 1969.

Crazy begins and ends with VT 2002.

Bad beat is OU in '94 or UT in '98.

Intensity Miami '92.
the minnesota fumble game might've gotten a pretty good explosion of holy s and wtfs on twitter

(not that many people from here attended that)

If I had to pick one moment to be at the Dome, I'd pick that first touchdown against PSU. I can't imagine how insane that place was going. (I was a year old at the time.)

My Dome experiences are much more limited (20ish games), but my favorites are:
The Doug Hogue game (Rutgers 09)
West Virginia 2011
BC 2013 (The place was half full and deafeningly loud at the end)

In no order...

VT 02
VT 98
Tennessee
WVU 87
Miami 92
And Kickoff Classic vs Wisconsin just because of the domination.

Yea. That kickoff classic was really fun. Much more fun than any of our Metlife games, as I know from experience...

2003 Rutgers 'Wind' game. Crazy in the worst way possible.

Mitigating factors - I met cto, Bill Orange, and sutomcat for the first time at that game.

yep. another awesome kickoff return to set the stage after a great tailgate.

then i got to witness ron dayne held to no yards at Giants Stadium, which unfortunetly would become a tradition...
