After all that has transpired this season, a storming would surely be in order. Knock yourselves out, kids (just don't knock anyone else out).We are Syracuse. A top 10-15ish program all-time. When we win big games it should never warrant storm the court. Court storming while it is fun and I was reluctantly part of one on Senior Day in 2007 against Georgetown. Should be very rare. I know we have struggled this year.
I know this isn't a popular opinion but I would like for our program to look big time and not celebrate by storming if we are lucky enough to win. I hope the student section is working on every student wearing 25 on March 2nd that would be cool. To see the entire Student section in Orange Superman logoish shirts with 25 instead of the S.
So basically because we are having a 2005-2006 season in your minds are history of being a successful program for the last 39 years should be forgot and we should act like we haven't been good. After all that has transpired this season, a storming would surely be in order. And feel free to storm the court after beating Louisville and UVA. But don't bother doing it after Pitt goes down; just have someone run out there and tousle Jamie Dixon's hair.
I've seen all of those 39 seasons and a few more and was even a student once, so I'm well aware of the history of the program. So basically because we are having a 2005-2006 season in your minds are history of being a successful program for the last 39 years should be forgot and we should act like we haven't been good.
I can atleast understand the idea of rushing the court tonight because Duke is a 6 point favorite or Virginia on Sr night for Rak. However no way against Louisville. That team is a paper tiger.
I am clearly in the minority on this issue. I concede that I was hoping we could act like we have been there before, but I guess people want to have some fun so I wouldn't be upset if we see 1 storming this year.
I am not taking the issue seriously as I said I am in the minority and conceded my opinion isn't popular. Thus, I am wrong. I just hope we win the game and if something happens oh well.I've seen all of those 39 seasons and a few more and was even a student once, so I'm well aware of the history of the program.
I just think you're taking this issue way too seriously. Enjoy the rest of the season.

Alsacs said:If I am in the minority that is fine and I respect the opposing mindset. I just think SU hoops are elite and should never be surprised when we win any game especially at home. Court stormings for me would be like if BC beat us when we were undefeated last year if that game where in Boston. SU football should storm any win over a ranked team at the Dome. I hope the 25 idea catches on with students.
Storming the court has nothing to do with our place in college hoops. It has to do with some drunk college kids having fun. Storm the court, jump, scream loud and enjoy.
ESPN will show it on Sportscenter and recruits and possible undergrads will think SU looks like a kick ass place to go to school.
That's all a court storming is. It's not some peek behind the curtain at our perceived view of ourselves in the college basketball landscape. Anyone that thinks that is GREATLY overthinking it.
I think with no post-season eligibility, a court storm after winning this game would be understood by most fan bases. Go 'Cuse! That is your perception, which I can appreciate, but not the perception for many other fans including myself. Just by reading this thread it is easy to see that people have differing views on the subject. Perhaps you are GREATLY underthinking it.
Bottom line is that there is no right or wrong regarding this topic. People simply have different opinions on the matter. Remember last year when UNC stormed the court against Duke? That didn't go over very well by a lot of their fan base and it also surprised some in the media (including our own Dookie V).

You're right, it's all a matter of opinion, and we can all agree to disagree on something that changes the perception of our program much less than the impending probation.
I just find it funny that people get very haughty on an issue like this when meanwhile the public perception of our program is shaped by so many other things before this. This literally is like Issue #177 on the things that change or drive perception of a program. Students storming a court might get a backlash from people for a day. Then it's gone. There are equal amounts of people (as this thread proves) that think it's a celebration of college kids and basketball. So I think a court storming against the #4 team in the country wouldn't hurt our public perception at all.
In full disclosure, I used to think court storming was awful, and how dare us for doing that. We're SYRACUSE after all! And then I thought -- "who really cares? If students have fun doing it and no one gets hurt, who cares?" Because honestly, a random February court storming isn't doing ONE IOTA in changing public perception of our program.
