Cuse +1.5

SU has played really well at home on Friday nights the past few years (except Nova this year). Ville also has to travel which makes their short week even shorter. And couple that with starting a freshmen QB which is a bigger loss than a WR or two. Not to mention Maryland is better than we thought. We need to capitalize on this opportunity and get this W.

My biggest injury worry is Foy. I think we can beat Louisville with the primary WRs being West, Lewis, Ishmael, Flemming (would like to see more out of him).

Louisville is getting a lot of press about their D, but they really haven't been all that tested. Miami was starting a true freshman QB in his first ever action. UVA isn't known for their offense. Wake REALLY isn't known for their offense. The others were Murray State and FIU.

Lasker looked pretty lost out there last Saturday. I hate that we're already so banged up, not even a game into the ACC

Ask yourself one question Which teams offense has a better chance to have a big game ?

How could I miss those?

I saw 2 excellent, perfect throws. But 1 of those throws led to 3 more plays before the punt. I don't believe the other led to points either

I think its important to keep in mind he is a collegiate QB - I can safely assume he can throw excellent throws at least 5-10% of the time. The main problem with him is that its the 25-30% of the time where the throws aren't even close to target. That includes over throwing bubble screens by 5 yards.

And when I say 25-30% of the time he isnt close to the target, I don't mean incompletions. there is another 20-25% where the pass is incomplete on top of terrible throws.

But that's not what you said in your OP - "a qb who cant get the ball down field with his arm". Certainly sounded like you were critical of his arm strength.
Not saying there weren't bad throws or plays but it sure looks like he can get the ball down field.

thats absolutely what i said. my apologies if the wording confused you. But do you really think I was saying that a college QB can NEVER throw a good pass down the field? how stupid is that? I just assumed it was common sense.

He is extremely inconsistent throwing the ball down the field. And I don't think anyone has a good feeling when he drops back to throw.

And I am POSITIVE nobody saw those those 2 throws and thought to themselves "par for the course for TH, he makes those throws often"

With that last post, Im done arguing about Terrel Hunt. He is not a good passer. Thats plain and simple. Anyone arguing is just arguing for the sake of an argument.

That being said, he is an absolute gamer and he def gives us the best chance to win right now. I take the good with the bad.

The freshman QB is putting up 34 a game? Yikes

That's the season average. Their defense also has 13 takeaways and holding opponents to 12.2 points/game.

I said this in another thread. 2 years ago UL was #10 and undefeated and SU was only a 1 point underdog and they had Bridgewater.
Vegas knows this game will be close I wouldn't touch this line with an iron stick. Betting on SU this year is too much of a gamble.
SobeCuse I like Ohio state to kill UMD this week. UMD defense sucks and the Buckeyes will stop the Terps.

With our only 2 playmaking wr's out, 2 anemic showings at home, a qb who cant get the ball down field with his arm, banged up everywhere, wr's who look like they are glued to the defender and playing against Bobby Petrino and a 3rd ranked defense in the country... there is something CRAZY about this line.

I assumed the line would be minimum 7. But realistically like 10-14.

This is as crazy as the Falcons -3 @Minny was last week. Minny not only won, but basically looked like the better team for 50 out of 60 mins of the game.

The Falcons game is the only thing keeping me from betting the house on Lville.

Vegas is begging you to take Lville. I would assume 95%+ is on the Cardinals yet the line keeps creeping down.

What a Douchey post

If those were the only two, you might have a point.

they scored 66 vs murray,, 25 a game elsewise and the FR scored 20 last week in his only start.

worse though they are scoring 34 pts a game with 250/600/270/330/420. they have caused 3 To's in all but one game, we have to avoid that.

why does Maryland Defense suck? they allowed SU and WV yards.. but other than that 300 yds a game which is pretty good. Indiana ran and passed all over Mizzi and had 320 vs maryland.

You realize UMD has had a lot of injuries on defense. They aren't good right now on defense. Outside of Lively they don't have a playmaker healthy on defense. I think Ohio State beats Maryland 42-28 this week.

That Indiana - MD game, coming off the Indiana - Mizzou game, is probably the most surprising result that no one knew about.

Gameday crew all picked Indiana, said it wouldn't be close, never even mentioned a single thing about Maryland.

I still think Ohio State probably lights them up in their 2nd trip to the not so great state of Maryland this year. Urban has their offense looking much different than the first 2 games.

I always love the "all my points are valid and all of yours are invalid so there's no further point in arguing" stance. You made a fairly weak point that TH can't make throws downfield. A few people pointed out how your statement was wrong, so you came back with basically "only a moron would think that [what I wrote] is what I really meant." Then you closed off your argument.

so what happened last week that they shut down an indiana offense that was rolling people and a RB that is really good and no one knows anything about?

Your opinion is reasonable my opinion is reasonable. We will find out on Saturday, but I don't think UMDs defense is any good. The Terps beat us and Indiana but both of those teams are bottom half P5 teams. I think Ohio State rolls them and you don't that is fine.

wouldnt surprise me if OSU rolls them but I think it will be because OSU shuts them down on offense if they do. I dont think Maryland is as bad on D, just avg.

They couldn't handle VATECH at home . This is their firs road game of the season and Maryland will be the best team they play so far.

I am thinking something like that. If Cincinnati scored 28 on OSU then Maryland certainly can.

LOL. I feel like Im in the twilight zone. My argument is dead on. If you really thought I meant that a college starting QB can never have 2 good throws in a game and that every throw has to be a wobbly duck, there is no reason to debate. that is just idiotic. no offense.

the real reason I shut off my portion of the argument, I didnt start this thread to bash Terrel Hunt. I started it to question the spread. Hope I'm wrong.

I didn't know the Navy game opening weekend was a home/neutral site game for Ohio State. Maryland is not that good. They are a 7-8 win team. We don't need to overrate Maryland, Villanova because we played them. Maryland's D isn't healthy Ohio State offense will score on them.
