Cuse/ND ESPN Gameday from the Bronx 11/17?

As it stands right now, it's the on;y matchup of ranked teams. If everything holds serve, it would likely be a top 15, maybe even a top 10 Syracuse team (did I just say that), vs. a top 3 ND team. I don't see who else could bump us. Watch though...this will be a week they go to ND State, or App State or some crap.

The fact it’s Yankee stadium will put it over the top and make ESPN go there. If it was in South Bend still I would think they would pass and go to UCF since they were already there but a chance for ESPN to set up shop outside the most overrated stadium in baseball with all the dumb Yankee press and probably Aaron Jusge as a guest picker (Let’s go Mets) is an opportunity they won’t pass up.

Plus the game has playoff implications and a feel good underdog story with Syracuse

Will someone please bring a sign with my favorite gameday quote of all time “They aren’t making major motion pictures about football at Rutgers or Uconn”

Our game is the only possible P5 option. No other good matchups at all.

If they decide they want to try something different, there are two G5 matchups that would have some interest.

Cincy (1 loss) @ UCF (undefeated)
San Diego State (2 losses) @ Fresno State (1 loss)

Or if they want to drop down a level and try another JMUish thing, they could go to undefeated Princeton who hosts 2 loss Penn. Or the Harvard/Yale game, but that's at Fenway, I'd think they'd only do that if it were on one of the campuses.

I can't reach any further.

FYI, a quote from the College Gameday Producer (whos a Cuse alum) on if SU-Notre Dame will host:

Do they normally go to games that are broadcast on other networks? I never watch game day so I have no clue.

·rivalry game
·two traditional East Coast powers
·Birthplace of college football setting"

Man I wish you'd change your avatar! You have some decent posts. I can't say the same for someone else with the same avatar, and I'm easily confused.

All the time they go to a ton of sec sites they were at south bend this year for the mich game. Also ou Texas.

hmmmm. very telling...tell me more.

The ironic thing is, if this game was in SB i think GD would be a lock. When you look at GD and its production, they favor being on campus for logistics and fan involvement. Setting up at Yankee stadium or times square or whenever doesn't scream CFB and will be a tough draw in NYC which is anything but a college town.

You only need a few hundred fans to show up to make Gameday look good on TV. That’s super easy to do in NYC

Notre Dame is undefeated with a real chance at their first CFB playoff berth. Throw in Yankee stadium and an 8-2 Cuse team ranked just outside the top 10 and it would be a no brainer. Plus they like to get schools who have never been on Gameday in there as well. Ton of storetlines etc. they would jump at the chance

They'll do a feature on the high level of metro new york football and how Army is the best program in the area and it's a four horse race between Rutty, Uconn, Wagner, and SUNY SB for 2nd.

I know. I come up with crazy ideas like if we end up 10-2, our QB should be in consideration for the Heisman award and I support the guy 100% and don't try to find every flaw in every play he makes.

Have you ever walked around Manhattan in the fall and passed bars packed at noon on saturdays will college alumni groups? NYC natives might not care about college football, but virtually every big school in the country has a major alumni presence.

And Gameday can easily be done at Heritage Park or Babe Ruth Plaza.

Sheesh, I'm just hoping we beat Louisville in an all-time possible look-ahead game.

If this were a Raycom 12:20 game in the middle of the season, I'd worry about how flat we are. But several things in our favor to keep the team focused.

1. Senior Day
2. Friday night on ESPN
3. Louisville has embarrassed us two straight years
4. We know we get that extra day of rest and hype starting, so it doesn't need to start now
5. Petrino mollests collies

6. Louisville players are playing for their coach...to get fired
7. Petrino molests anything within 20 feet of him

There is no big game that weekend.

Honestly even though its an NBC game they might prefer having it at ESPN HQ in times square to going to South Bend for a game that isn't theirs. Travel costs etc would be lower.

I agree. It's not that NYC doesn't care about college sports. It does. There's just a lot of pro sports interest on top of that.
