Cuse opens -12.5 over Bucknell

Whoa. BET365 just opened the line at -20. Starling wouldn’t account for 6.5 points would he?

Edit: Bet365 just adjusted back down to -13.5.

He's going to be back next week?

That's the best case scenario.

My guess, based on having a similar injury this fall, is that he will likely need a couple more weeks before it doesn't hurt.

4 weeks is pretty fast for a wrist, even if it's only a hairline fracture. The bone might be healed according to the x-ray, but it's going to be tender. You can't stop using your hands while you're recovering; that makes it linger.

I just hope he plays a lot of guys tomorrow, and subs them out over lack of hustle or dumb plays. I'd like to see him coaching tomorrow, not just sitting there in despair.

4 weeks seems fast to fully recover. My guess is that he might be able to play, but controlling the ball well and being at full strength might take a few more weeks.
Hope to be very very wrong.

If I had to bet id take Bucknell money line we are due to actually lose one of these cupcake OOC games.

I think we cover.

That being said an average P5 team would be favoured by 20 points, so its not much of an accomplishment.

If I were a betting man, I would take Bucknell.

My suggestion is to stop playing in tournaments in the beginning of the year and play a lot of cupcakes JB understood this when he had a young team to develop continuity while Autry clearly has not. Then you start playing harder teams and as a team hopefully by game 15 you have figured out how to play as a team and win as a team

Certainly a sensible thought, just like we were over-scheduling in football certain years.

But from the way they judge teams now with these computer programs, you really can't do that anymore, and expect to be a ranked team, or even a tournament team.

The computer models judge leagues in the pre-season from these intersectional games. And to a disturbing extent (see posts of jncuse), it's the margin of victory against the Quad 4 teams that have so much sway in ultimate computer rankings. It's nuts, but it works against the ACC, at least until we get used to running up the score when we play perceived "runts".

Yeah that is a recipe to never get an at large and be forced to win the ACCT to get in you'll never get picked over a similar record bubble team doing that.

Putting aside the fact we are terrible Texas Texas Tech and Mary in NYC are probably great SOS and RPI games and were likely to have the crowd on our side. And we did actually go to the bottom of some of these conferences this year like LeMoyne instead of Bryant Youngstown is bottom of Horizon.

All of those things only
Matter if you win the damn games you play and I don’t see us doing that right now in any way shape or form this looks to me like a 11-25 season

Going 14-22 with a schedule that gives you no shot at an at large isn't better. Some people thought we'd be good this year.

Schedule was fine. ND was missing their best player and Georgetown is awful and was at the Dome. If you can't win those games it's time for a new coach.

We played 3 cupcakes, and won by a total of 4 points in regulation to start the season. When the average P5 teams wins those games by about 60-70 points.

There just wasn't a scheduling solution to make our team any better this year. We are just not very good.

Thats a horrible idea given the lack of opportunities in the ACC for a tournament resume

It’s just that we aren’t being judged at all without any opportunities because we are consistently losing these games
