Custis was a good watch

not sure what you were watching, we got deep 5-6 times with multiple steps but the throws were short and they had to slow down.

Watching the first quarter again we started out hot, then the last drive 2nd and 2 went deep to ish which was a bad decision to throw and then 3rd and 2 deep again to Custis who caught it out of bounds but he ran the wrong rout and Dungey let him know it, it should have been a curl or hook for the first down and Dungey was forced to throw it deep. CCSU was using 7-8 yd cushions so we should never have gotten deep and we still did multiple times.

Custis was less than impressive like his first 2 years. At 6'5", 220 ish he is less than impressive. Really? He failed to get behind and separate from any CCST corners. ED threw him 3 or 4 50/50 balls and he was 0/4. He has a long way to go. He isnt ready for P5 corners and/or safeties.

Custis and the other receivers on the outside, need to show something better. Our outside receivers showed nothing, no ability to separate deep. Then again, there were no routes run over the middle to make the D REALLY think.

Please stop with this narrative. Our starting outside WRs combined for 15 catches for 174 yards (11.6 avg). If you had in the one ball Custis caught OB, Dungey mislead him on it and even one of the under throws to Ishmael you are looking at well over 200 yards combined. Show something better, really? Few things to think about 2 and 1/2 quarters and they almost had 200 yards and they where using a super vanilla playbook. Would we all loved to see Ishmael and Custis have AET days, sure but come on man...

Ish dropped a TD as well in the 2nd quarter it probably should have been close to 50-0 at the half with the play calls that were made.. Now if you want to complain about guys not running 5 yds open, is that speed or just bad D?

Please stop? We made short to intermediate completions against an interior opponent. We were horrible in getting the ball deep as our wrs on the outside couldn't get separation, which is concerning going against lesser talent. Its obvious. We have a problem on the outside. Not to mention, we refuse to use the middle of the field, previously mentioned.

I'm not on board the Custis train just yet but I thought Dungey's deep balls were awful. The one play that stands out was with Custis having 3 steps on the defender and Dungey throwing it 10 yards short.

so the pass on the first drive that was one handed catch didn happen? he caught another in the 2nd taht Dungey threw out of bounds. he was open deep at least 2 more times than were under thrown. they played him a huge cushion most of the night.

I dont know how he will play against P5 corners but you cant tell that off Friday night.

You are spot on, EDs deep balls were lacking, but that said, the receivers had zero separation.

You clearly didn't read my full post and sadly this is what you do, I really need to stop trying. Have a good one.

Even the Announcers noticed that he had 2 TDs had the throws been better he had good separation. ED needs to get the ball out better, hopefully game 1 worked out some kinks we left a ton of deep balls on the field with throws and drops.

Hello all, ED's deep game sucked. We didnt get the ball deep on go routes all night minus the custis one handed catch with a defender right there. Not Acceptable agsinst a D2 team.

What's the limit on dungeys arm? 40-45? Culpepper who has an odd motion cut one looked that looked a lot better.

Dude you literally have been screaming that it was the outside WR's fault for not getting open, now you are calling ED out lololol. Also CCSU is division 1 FCS not division 2.

It was designed to be a back shoulder throw. HCDB said so in his presser. Custis made the wrong read.

I don't know from what I saw Custis would have had 2 more long TD's if Dungey would have made a good throw. Custis had great separation. Also got the feeling that they could have thrown it up to him all night long if they wanted to. He had 3 for 40 on the stat sheet, but he also drew a PI where he was open deep yet again. I'm willing to bet we see a handful of 40+ yard plays from Custis this year.

No separation. Deep ball underthrown. Someone's losing ground here.

Ish the football player tied the record for receptions in a game and Ish the poster said he did nothing all game ... yikes.

They were rusty. ED has thrown some really nice deep balls - he'll be fine. I think our starting WR won't run by too many DB - but Custis has the height and Ish routinely comes down with the ball in traffic (Looks like A. Boldin a bit). The true deep threat is Butler - and I think he'll see time.

that makes no sense.. back should throws dont go for TDs so why run a fly pattern at all.. what if he had 5 steps should dungey still under throw it back shoulder? back shoulder throws are for tight coverage.

A. Custis didnt get any separation most of the night.
B. I am a huge ED proponent, but the ball didn't come out well on most of his deep balls.
C. Probably cant get on either too much bc we still refuse to use the middle of the field and dbs learned early they only had to cover mostly numbers to sideline deep.
D. I am fully aware CCST is FCS. was being funny.

He had like 10inches on his DB. He had separation all night lol

I tend to disagree; the one catch he did get should've had circus music playing in the background... Oh wait, what are you talking about?

I'm referring to the throw he made along the sidelines.
