Very interesting seems like he is really against moving from the ACC. If this has been posted already sorry I didn't see it and lock it up.

http://www.coachingsearch.com/home/...by-big-12-rumors-its-affected-recruiting.html

"It's really impacted and affected our recruiting. I've had to spend a lot of time re-recruiting guys and assuring them that we're not going to the Big 12."

"So it's been a real distraction and it's been negative, quite frankly."

In 3 years see how West Virginia's recruting is, right now they get players from florida, in the future that will be much harder. Kids that grow up in the south, might have a big problem playing all their games in the mid-west.

From Tigernet.com

The HC would not be speaking out like this [2]

unless he already knew what was gonna happen. He wouldn't say It'd be the worst thing for Clemson unless he knew we weren't going.

LOL!

"AWRIGHT! Who forgot to send Sweeny the Memo? We've been coordinating for weeks with the "DUDE" from WVU's blogs. How can we let him down now?"

Crazy, just crazy how people think you can just play new schools without it affecting your incoming students and their families, especially athletes. Imagine selling that move to a kid in SC, "Now, son, you see you will be guarateed maybe one game against Texas and one against OU while you attend Clemson/FSU. We'll get to host Iowa State, Kansas, KState, OSU and WVU twice and get to visit them twice, too. If Iowa in November does not suit you, how about a trip to Lubbock or Waco? You'll love it. Don't worry, Mom and Dad, travel to to Lubbock is possible, you fly into DFW and catch the next covered wagon train, should take more than 8-9 days round trip."

I agree, Sweeny sounds like Clemson is not packing for a move.

"Not gonna happen" : even more detail from

interview at Tigernet

"been a lot of irresponsible reporting or blogging. We live in a world where someone hears something from a guy in the third stall down in the bathroom, and it is like, "That's the fact. That's the way it is."

But it is so far removed from reality and it just takes on a life of its own. It has been a real distraction. We are 1000 percent committed to the A.C.C."

This seems like the most genuine denial I have read from anyone in a position of power at either Clemson or FSU. Sure seems like Clemson is definitely staying put and FSU probably is as well.

"Leaving the big east would be a huge mistake.": James Arthur Boeheim, circa 2010. Just sayin...

The Dude may well abide. But he don't know .

Ha, I was going to post the same thing. Whether FSU, Clemson or anyone at all leaves the ACC, Dabo has no input and is talking from emotion. Heck, JB didn't want to leave Manley let alone the BE.

I would think that the fact the HC is saying the B12 negatively impacts recruiting is the difference here and would at least be a factor (and maybe a big one) in any decisionmaking process.

To the schools decision? None whatsoever.

Can't play for a national championship if you can't recruit.

Recruiting wasn't a consideration when other teams like Nebraska moved. Or aTm, WVU, etc.

Just quoting your post from a few minutes ago ... money or playing for a NC. Need excellent recruiting to play for a NC. Clemson HC says it ain't helping.

Not a fair comparison. Nebraska and Tamu both moved to stronger conferences and WVU moved because they had no choice.

FSU and Clemson would be moving solely for cash.

Correct. More $$$. Point is, $$$, NC (better conference) are the considerations, not "recruiting". A good team in a good conference will be able to recruit. PSU has for years.

I stand by it because he will be able to recruit if he is going to a better conference with a better chance to play for a NC and is getting more $$$$ for the program.

It only becomes a better conference if they leave. As it stands right now they are pretty equal.

Don't disagree nexcessarily. But if they think the $$$ is better and if they think the B12 road to the NC is more secure, they may leave even if on the field today the 2 are equal.

I don't think West Virginia's chances at a NC are better than if they were in the ACC and part of that is the likely downside to recruiting (as compared to if WV was in the ACC). We'll have to disagree.

If a conference isn't part of, or potentially won't be part of at some time, the NC playoff, chances at a NC go way down. Not saying that will happen but that is what has to be considered. Not the strength of their team but the opportun ity (plus $$$$ if it is more).

Boeheim doesnt wanna leave New York to play a game. Just saying

im a big believer in where theres smoke...theres fire. ive made an internet career on it, but clemson, to the bevo???...i cant see it. same with free shoes uni.

the SEC, well thats different. but it would be the end of clemson. theyd be vandy, without the academics and so/so hoop team. fsu would be south carolina.

neither is going.
