Like most of you on here I was disappointed with the collapse once JS got his 4th foul, but dang how many people, including myself, really, really figured this team would make it to the finals let alone win three games in a row and make it to the finals?!?!?!
Thought we might even be a possible one and done after the 1st round game but all of a sudden JS emerged, then slowly BT got going. The rest of the team followed suit and we took care of SHU.
I could tell this team was starting to get their swagger back and had a good chance to knock off Pitt which they did. That was the one game I really wanted them to win based on how bad Pitt has dominated us. I was just hoping against GTown, if we lost, we would go down fighting but these kids had a chip on their shoulders thanks to JT (father and son) for running their yaps. Fri night to me was like winning the BET. Got to tell GTown to basically kiss our butts and have fun in your new league as we are moving on to bigger/better things.
I didn't think we would win last night but after JS hit that three and got us up 16 I felt good, then the mood shifted when he got the 4th and the downfall started. Towards the end of the game I was really ticked, but then I said you know what, I'm damn proud of these guys for they accomplished the whole weekend. They could have just come in with heads down and said let's just get this over with, but not this team, which shows the character you play with when you represent your coach and school.
To me the biggest thing to come out of this was JS getting his stroke back and BT getting most of his confidence back (besides last night). We are going to be a tough out in the tourney and teams better beware. So glad to see BMK emerge and if Rak could just get it like BMK does we would be so much better in the middle. Hopefully Cooney will continue to tribute ala the GTown game and Fair can give us some quality minutes too. It was also nice to see CJ knocking down J's after struggling the whole rest of the tourney. Looking forward to the big dance.
PS - Hancock is now on my all punk team - do not like that kid.
