He's going to try to Hugh Freeze it and use a G5 job for two years to get back into the SEC.

There is a way into the playoff in G5 that is wide open for a team like UNLV.

Maybe. The problem is that it’s going to be the G6 soon, and that’s because the new Pac is going to be better than the new Mountain West. So now that 5th ranked conference champ is coming from a more competitive field.

But hey, good for Dan. I really enjoyed my UNLV experience this fall. Seemed like a good fan base and Vegas is a great place to call home.

Make some money, do what you love, snd enjoy yourself. There are worse things.

Still might not be enough. The MWC will be the 8th best conference going forward so they need to hope that either 1. their champ is the 5th best ranked or 2. that they are Top 10 and get an at large.

Plenty of good record G5s who did not finish near the playoffs.

MWC just got gutted by the Wazzu and Oregon State. UNLV is surprisingly staying in the MWC for now.

They will be able to schedule OOC well enough and cake walk that conference. It's like JMU or Liberty but a little more help in the polls which is all that matters for the G5 bid. Probably an easier path than the new PAC.

Oh I agree. I was all in on the hilarity last November. It was the best.

I do think Chesney was the presumed favorite going into the process but Fran went out and took the job from everyone.
