My buddy and i were taking the escalator to our seats in 328 on thurs just prior to tip and I look to my right and on the escalator to our right is Danny Ainge. As a hawks fan and celtics hater, it didn't do anything for me.

My buddy loves the celtics so I nudge him to look to his right... He instinctively yells "Danny" (we were 2 feet away from him) and goes in for the hand shake. Danny awkwardly denies it but offers a fist pound (germophobe?) I also give him the fist pound and ask him if he likes dion waiters. He pauses for about 3 seconds and responds "should I like him?"

My buddy tells him he wants him in Boston next year and I tell him he has a great spin move (didn't have much to respond to based on his awkwardness) and he went to his box and us to the nose bleeds.

Long story short he seemed to have the personality of a hermit and I dont think he is very high on dion.

No dis respect son, but

you are likely 1 of 4 total atlanta hawk fans, and Ainge was prob stunned

lol

You should have said to him "Great trade last year giving away your Center and messing up your team's chemistry - DUMB ASS!"

Well I saw Danni Boatright (she's a KU fan) at the game last night. I win.

I had a much more pleasurable experience watching the Syracuse-Wisconsin game in Petaluma CA at local sports bar. The guy next to me really new his college hoops and surprisingly BE teams, coaches, players, records. Although he wasn't a Cuse fan he was very supportive and had only the highest praise for JB and the team.

Then he floors me by telling he is Steve Lavin's older brother John .. a real great guy.

I had the pleasure(?) of watching Danny when I was a grad student at SU, when Ainge played SS for the Syracuse Chiefs. I recall him being a soph(?) at BUY; 6-2, 180 lbs soaking wet. Would make a great play going deep in the hole to field the ball, then throw it about 6 ft over the 1st baseman's head (Boomer Wells?). Couldn't hit a lick.
Career-wise, probably a wise decision to stick to basketball.

Sounds to me like you and your buddy probably creeped him out. Good job though, I never liked Ainge.

In fairness to Ainge, he probably was better than Drew Henson.
