Darrell Gill Jr. transferring to Ole Miss

The article actually prefers Cook over Gill!
The fact that our skilled position guys are getting rated higher and wanted by the factories in key roles than many would’ve thought speaks volumes. That is on offense right now and is spreading to the defensive side of the ball quick. Match that with getting the trenches right and we’re close along with always having a serviceable QB. I feel very good about where the program is headed. Even during the horrible losing streak, the energy and aura is different now.

I think we undervalued him.
Come back home, Darrell!

I think Gill is smart enough to know that promises of starting are not guaranteed at the schools he is looking at.

It's wild to think he would go somewhere that he wouldn't start.

Many on this board undervalue his abilities but other teams certainly do not. He might be wr2 somewhere with a stud first day pick wr1 but that would also put him against cb2. Good luck.

This is a very curious case...

With him not committing yet...does his transfer make us worry that Angeli may not be back for the start of the season? It was always going to be close, certainly makes you wonder
I certainly think the people penciling him in are getting ahead of themselves. Even if he gets cleared, the thing with this injury is that athletes aren’t back to their prior level of play until 12 - 18 months.

“But if we’re talking about a seven-figure investment, the smart money might be on Cook.”
That is honestly insanity to me if he was the choice

Imagine Cook getting the 7 figure deal from Ohio State and we “asked him to leave”.
Some people are willing to put up with character flaws and bad habits just to win football games. OSU is totally that program. Fran is trying to build a culture, and he doesn’t want people here that aren’t buying in. It’s counterproductive and makes things harder. Terrell Owens was awesome, but he destroyed a couple locker rooms along the way.

Truthful I would take Gill over Cook. If Gill came back this receiving core would be one of the best we’ve ever had. I know he’s not going to come back. But we would have unreal talent with a competent QB throwing to them

Therein lies the rub.
Don't matter if he's the next Randy Moss, he still needs a competent QB/OL, OC, et al.. to be a factor and have an impact. Otherwise he's a glorified decoy running routes.

I honestly don't think that you did, however if complete reiteration as it a specific personal situation, namely involving you. And I mean that in whatever context. However the context in which I was commenting on and I apologize if inappropriate the departure of a specific player. Sometimes you have the money and don't want to spend it, sometimes you don't have the money and wouldn't spend it anyways, and everywhere else in between concerning this player. If he is able to cash in good for him.
