Day Four Spring Practice: Friday, March 11, 2022

I get the feeling that our special teams are going to be filled mostly with non-first-team defensive backs. And I think that's a good thing. It will get everybody's feet wet and keep more players healthy. But that's my speculation

He left out "The 217 Pound Steve Linton". That is my official nickname for him until he breaks the 220 barrier. Just lie, dude. Don't let anybody think you're a scrawny shrimp. That's what they do ALL THE TIME in basketball and everybody knows it.

I like when a coverage team has some linebackers in it. They know how to hit, but we don't have that many reserves this year at LB. We're a little light right now since Cantin-Arku left, in particular. He could have been an important piece.

Wide receivers are also good to put on specials, like punt coverage not kickoffs (where risk of injury is higher), because it reminds them that they're football players, too, not just ballerinas.

If a ball gets intercepted and you're a WR on our team, you damn well better know how to tackle someone effectively and without hurting yourself. Also makes them better blockers, IMO.

Terrific interview. Seems like a great young man. Trust the process. These guys have put people in the pros. They know what it takes.

Sounds very promising about the line. I hope some of them were also wrestlers in high school. I always felt like wrestlers made the best linemen. You learn it's about leverage and balance, not just raw strength.

Geer is going to be a star

Is he playing tackle? He's still about 20 lbs light for that.
I do agree that he looks like a monster of a player.

Is it Josh or Wes
Josh as has been said.

Running back Josh Hough, coming off a season-ending knee injury sustained in the preseason, has worked in with the defensive linemen

Josh as has been said.
I'm pretty disappointed, if accurate. I was hoping it was going to work out at RB so we could see him abusing guys in the second level. If that's where it ends up going, I wonder if it's a function of a having a new OC and/or that's where he was always going to end up and/or a result of the injury.

I dont know but I figured he had to change his body in order to be a productive RB in the ACC. The injury made it more challenging to do that.

With all the advanced technology inside the helmet, when will they come up with a soft-shell helmet that makes it safer for the player being hit with it?

Like these? Used in practice for years and improving.
