Eventually (15-20 years) I could see that happening. Even in soccer I do think it's possible more players wear a head covering.

I suspect the only thing keeping these from being used in games is the stubbornness on the part of a select group of power brand teams - I’m looking at you Michigan - who would do anything to keep from giving up their “look.” It’s almost criminal. If enough players take a stand, and a couple of schools show some leadership, we could see these being worn. (Soapbox comment: This kind of thing is ultimately far more important than some virtue-signaling social justice messages on collars and in end zones.)

good morning Syracuse fans . i see a rumor about my son on these threads that my son career is over! That is 1000 percent false ! josh had a season ending injury last august in camp not career ending ! he has been busted his ass rehabbing and training to get back on the field! but i will say this to the real fans of josh who had real concern for my son thank you very much ! but you guys know you can just ask me no need to start rumors lol. and to those fakes fans who said all this negative stuff to say bout my son on twitter and this forum i say may god bless you ! and to end this i will say this im very disappointed in how my son was handled and treated during this difficult time by certain people at Syracuse university . i loss alot of respect for them ! but like i told my son what don't kill makes you stronger! josh gonna proved all you doubters in Syracuse very wrong ! god bless

Great to hear from you Jason and thanks for your input. I didn't hear people here saying his career is over. I think someone did mention a rumor of it, but most here believe that was just a rumor as I wouldn't think he'd be participating at practice even in a limited capacity right now. Great to hear confirmation that this is not the case. I did see mentions of him possibly moving to DE line but not sure if that is just speculation or not. Its a long recovery and people often jump to conclusions. I think all of us here hope to have him come back strong and compete at RB. We all love the thought of what a big, fast bruising back could bring and are rooting for him. Lastly, very disappointed to hear your unhappy with certain people at Syracuse. I hope your opinions of those people can improve soon. Hoping it is just communication problems or something.

Good hearing from you... a couple of questions. Answer them as openly as you can or not at all. It's your call. From what position on the field will Josh remove all doubt? What "area of SU" caused you to lose a lot of respect? Coaching staff, medical/rehab people or educational/classroom. Don't need/want names...just wondering the source of your discontent.

I havent read every comment about him here but I like to think every person was excited about his commitment and couldnt wait to see him on the field. He had a unfortunate injury. Sorry to hear he wasnt treated the way you would like. I think parents have to understand that the fans here are rooting for all players because they want to see the team win regardless of who is on the field. It doesn't mean they are against Josh. They have been fans way before he came here. We all wish Josh the best and look forward to him making an impact in whatever way possible. I personally want him to fully recover and make the NFL. Which ever is the easiest path to get him there.

I was just happy to see Josh smiling on the sideline seemingly enjoying his time despite the injury, towards the end of last season.

Yeah, I wasn’t starting a rumor in bad will.

Just simply something that I had heard through the grapevine.

All of us are excited to have Josh here and wish him the best.

In fact, when I heard it was potentially career ending I was devastated.

Personally, he’s one of my favorite recruits we brought in. I’m extremely happy that it was not career ending and that he will get to play. I don’t think there is ANYONE on here rooting against Josh.

Reminder, we all got together and voted obnoxiously to help him win that award….

He is a well liked player here and perhaps I think you are reading too much into people discussing possibilities. No one was saying “thank god he’s hurt and it might not ply again” it was more “damn, really hope it’s not true because we want to see him succeed here at Syracuse.”
