Day One Spring Football Practice 2/23/16 7:30 am

A little snarky in his responses. Seems on edge.I hope he doesn't develop an antagonistic relationship with the media. Just answer the questions the way they were intended. Its part of the job, silly questions and all. Its just the first day of practice, take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.
If he was snarky in answering Bud's questions, he WAS answering the questions the way they were intended. ;)

Bud can not retire soon enough.

If memory serves me right, any practice I've been to it's been green and red regardless of coach until Babers.

Robinson changed it to Blue and Orange.

Marrone returned to Coach Mac's Green for offense - Red for defense.

You've completely removed the GRob days from your memory ... well done, well done. I have not got there yet, and remember him questioning the red/green saying, "Our team colors are Orange and Blue" we will wear our team colors at practice.

Actually I don't think I went to a GRob practice. I was more commenting about the poster saying Marrone brought them back from the Mac days. I used to go to a lot of practices during Ps years and they were green and red. But others have already said that.

Yep, I considered P an extension of Mac. Just meant they went away under GRob and came back with Marrone.

I couldn't disagree with your take more. Snarky? Antagonistic? Not in the least.

Along with his fancy word writing style, my big issue is you can tell when he doesn't really want to be covering an event. Pretty sure it was column on last year's spring game that basically went on and on about how much of a waste of time it was.
He's gotten to the point that he doesn't really want to retire but doesn't like the work anymore. He's not versatile and takes no joy from what he does understand. It may not be hell but has to resemble purgatory for a guy that used to have a following and a purpose. His retirement wouldn't be mourned by many...

I never thought Bud liked sports. He ought to write human interest pieces, like Kathy Urshel.

What a day fellas!
1. Our boys are BACK in Action and its great seeing them!
2. Dinos calm influence and confidence is infectious and I have no doubt most of these kids will be seduced by him and his approach and run through a wall for him (in a fast manner )
3. Player development : anyone else notice the roster wgt discrepancy with the released roster vs. The roster released today in the spring prospectus? Conway already at 300, deurig at 320, etc. I like it.
4. Love the orange /white/black practice jersey system.
5. ED will flourish in this system and I think Dino will temper his excitement for what he has inherited at QB. ED is special.
6. Cant wait for April 2, to meet the staff and see some tempo in person!

What a great day!

I just got the chance to listen to it and I didn't think it was snarky at all. Every time I have heard him talk, that is his style, his tone or whatever you want to call it. It's just matter of factly and said with confidence. Even the facial expressions are the same each time.

He wanted to know what HCDBs thoughts were on a 4-8 team after one practice. Made sure to mention that they were 4-8, and was he surprised by the talent or concerned. He kinda gave him a "well football is played in pads so I don't know yet," answer, and Bud preceded to ask it again in a different way. Just the tone bothered me. Like why don't you just say, this team sucks, do you regret the job already? Bud is a cancer on this town!

Re: Bud
My business mentor always told me when it got bad... "It is never so bad it can't get worse."

The article he wrote today about said media time was ridiculous. A terrible read.
