Class of 2026 DB Jaxson Gates (CA) Flipped to BYU

Can we remove him from the committee list? Or at least add a question mark

People need to realize that this is how the system works. Fran doesn’t stop recruiting kids who are committed elsewhere (see Zaid) and other coaches won’t stop recruiting our kids.

It would be a terrible idea (especially in the NiL era) to tell a kid who might be being offered thousands upon thousands of dollars to not talk to anyone. It’s not what fans what, but it is reality and we need to come to a level of acceptance that this is what’s going to happen. Especially with the elite level kids we are trying to recruit

Not sure what this has to do with my post, but I agree.

Noteworthy: Gates, a Syracuse commit in football, showed his sprinter speed at the Arcadia Invitational on Saturday. Gates won his heat in the 100 meters open portion of the meet, winning in a personal best 10.60. It was the fastest time of all the afternoon open races, and it is the 15th fastest time in the CIF Southern Section this season. Gates, who is running track for the first time, has won six of the seven races he’s entered this season.

Wow, that's a fast league. It'll be fun to see how low he can get as a senior.

Wow. 10.56, 10.48 and now 10.39 all in under a month. He'll be in the 9's soon. ;)

His first season running track also so he'll keep dropping as form improves.

Was always one of the faster regions at Jr Olympics when my oldest used to compete. Florida, SoCal, Texas and GA kids are just different level likely because they can train outside all year
