PFF for college is nonsense so I wouldn't give those numbers any credence. There is no uniformity across their "game scouts" and they simply do not have the bandwidth to watch every single college football game each week to produce a reputable grade.![]()
Nice. We really needed to add a bigger DE to the mix. Love that he is 6'-4" and 275 lbs and is still a good pass rusher. He has a solid 77.4 pass rushing grade for a guy that size. His overall PFF is a bit lower at 70.2 so wonder why that is. Would think he also should be able to stop also stop the run well at that size as a DE. A poster had suggested he had a fair amount of offsides calls so maybe that is part of the reason for the lower overall PFF grade. He is now on his 5th school. Hopefully 5th time is really the charm! Anyway, he's only had 1 year of significant PT so should only be even better this season. Lets Go!
Fair enough. The validity of the stats I quoted were not the question I was debating. I was merely pointing out that if 36 pressures is what he got according to PFF, that would be a tremendous amount of pressures.PFF for college is nonsense so I wouldn't give those numbers any credence. I can see this dude being able to play both DE & DT like Jobity - Roscoe and Goggins did.I see him listed anywhere from 6-4 275 to 6-4 295
I think too many people here use it as concrete facts whether a player is good or not, and it's no more insightful than a player's CFB25 ratingFair enough. I'm sure it'll be reasonable to debate if he got a couple more or a couple fewer pressures if we watched his entire portfolio of plays.
But, you don't have to bring up your disdain for PFF every time it's mentioned in any thread.![]()
Not to derail a thread but I worked with a ton of Ex-Madden guys in the past. The player ranking system for a long time (maybe still true) was just a bunch of football fans sitting in a room debating every attribute rating.I think too many people here use it as concrete facts whether a player is good or not, and it's no more insightful than a player's CFB25 rating
I don't see why Perry also can't move outside on occasion. This defensive line should be fun to watch with a coach who likes to mix things up.I can see this dude being able to play both DE & DT like Jobity - Roscoe and Goggins did.
There is a big difference between PFF saying "this player scored a 77 on a play because he did most of what he was supposed to do" which is highly subjective and also doesn't include critical information like what the coaches are asking the player to do that play... And saying "Ok, that counts as a QB pressure."I think too many people here use it as concrete facts whether a player is good or not, and it's no more insightful than a player's CFB25 rating
