Definition of a true point guard

So - the silver (or rather, blue) lining here is -

JGIII is worse than John Gillon at the rim, but at least he doesn't try it very often?
I wish someone could chart how many times players get fouled driving to the rim. This wouldn't count as a shot attempt but I think this was part of the strategy of JG3 putting on weight. He scored a lot of his 5000 points in HS driving on Class B kids. Not as easy in D-1. Plus JG3 is a great FT shooter. It's a sound strategy but JG3 just needs to make more of those shots (or get fouled on more of them).

It's a shame that the world loves the 3 and teams like ours will live and die with it. Hopefully Richmond's play will open some eyes that a penetrating point guard is more valuable than guys just passing the ball around outside the 3 pt line

People always forget the latter. Also why Morey is happy to have Embiid even tho he won't be shooting 25 foot jumpers.
