Doing okay, Tom, considering the world we all live in these days.

I hope you're also doing well.

Keep up the literate, informative, and fun postings.
Good post

And what is recruiting, recruiting, recruiting?

Coaching, coaching, coaching

Love these kinds of comments. Always come from people who don't know how endowments work.
I understand exactly how the people who have endowments make them work. Some are for specific items and some are for general purposes. It’s supposed to run the school. It’s also supposed to, objectively, keep costs down for the students, which is a farce.
At worst, the University could “loan” money to the AD for upgrades, or “lease” facilities to the AD.
Higher education is more about higher dollars and less about education than ever.

I was going to make a post about this, and then said why. In the simplest terms just know that a lot of endowed funds are only allowed to be used certain ways. If I endow a scholarship then the $100,000 that is necessary to fund my endowed scholarship must be used only for that scholarship.
Not all endowments are specifically ear marked. Some are to the general fund.https://dailyorange.com/2020/05/su-will-not-use-endowment-funds-offset-revenue-lost-pandemic/
By my math, that is about $400M that is not tied to a specific item.
And, as you obviously must know, given your posts, permission to use a restricted endowment for another purpose can be given by the donee, or if they are deceased, by a court. That is how endowments work.
People who write with condescending arrogance about subjects they believe to be complicated ought to consider that the other person knows just as much about the matter as they do, if not more.

You can have a fantastic coach who is a horrible recruiter and vice versa, agree?

and I believe that 100%. I know kids who considered Clemson for a hot minute for no reason other than 'just because' it'd be cool to go to school there. People outside the region only know who Clemson is because of their football program's success.
In 1988, SU law school brought in either 7or 17 1st years from California

Good to hear. I am doing well. Crazy times right now but my family and I are weathering the storm well so far.

Thanks for the kind words. I always look forward to your posts.

Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.
Like I posted elsewhere, obviously we need to recruit better but Wake and BC(before Hafley) didn’t have better recruiting ratings than us, at least not by much at all, yet they make bowls almost every year and we have made 1 in 8 years. We are always going to be a developmental program. We need better coaching to develop the kids we can realistically get

Can we please have the coastal Carolina offense , it’s just fun……. That is all.

Agree reminds me of the Bowl Johnny Manziel
Was in his senior year against Duke maybe?

A whole lot of offense and a little defense, heck neither team punted until the 3rd quarter.

Some might not like this style of football but to me it’s fun to watch! Wide open, sling the ball all over the field.

Side note the Coastal QB is good, will he be in the portal next?!?!?!?!?

I just love how it’s schemed l, it’s so multiple. It’s ran more like an orchestra smooth and quick decisions then just a rigid gameplan.

We're committed to having an FBS level football program.

We're not committed to being Alabama or LSU.
And SU is definitely not committed to cheating the way the SEC and its "supporters" are. Nor does SU "gray" shirt kids. SU athletes attend class and earn degrees, further, they actually use their degrees I life. How many SEC football players actually amount to something after football?

Integrity counts, especially in life.

Ya, and we have UNC with their fake classes.

Can we get the “be a dog” coach to come with it. (I sure he’s long gone from there but that presser always makes me smile)
