Yeah but outside the vanderbilt game and the IU game, KENTUCKY HAS BEEN BLOWING TEAMS OUT THE LAST 10 GAMES.
WE HAVE NOT. THATS WHY YOU ALWAYS TRY TO BLOW TEAMS AWAY AND DON"T HOPE FOR CLOSE GAMES.
You keep a team within ten with 5 minutes left and they can win. Heck you keep them within 10 with 31/2 minutes left and thats enough to. Look at Duke the other night at unc.
We say we are in the BE and blowouts don't happen in the BE but the reality of the matter is the big east was soooo tough last year and the year before and the year before. Yet come march its not like there were 4 BE teams in the elite 8 ever in the last 5 years.
Then again UNC won it all two years ago and in the ACC had a couple of losses and close games.
Its just tough to tell at this point. We could be like the UNC championship team a few years back or we could be like the kansas and syracuse 09-10 teams with some weaknesses that make it to the sweet 16.
Its all in the coaches and players hands right now. Nothing we say or do is going to change that.
In my opinion, I feel our biggest weakness despite winning by 18 last game is recent opponents taking the time against our defense.
We want to force teams to not receive the ball off passes comfertably and to force them to not utilize some of the floor on offense. Our zone is way to compacted at the moment and we are depending to much on our doubling and not enough on trying to force opponents into uncofortable positions and places they don't want the ball to be.
Translation --- Teams are getting the ball to where they want to and ready to make a quick flowing play/pass when they do as of late. Thats like a assist without a bucket. We have got to stop that.
Our offense and rebounding is getting better but we aren't doing it second nature. Our D needs some work.
Whenever this team doesn't do something great I get the feeling its our youth or not enough work in practice within one week to have it down second nature. Sometimes it has the appereance of learning forgetting only to learn again.
Great teams put their skills in long time memory not short. Good teams just roll the dice hoping to play to their strengths.
