Dino Finalizes 2020 Coaching Staff

The problem with ADs with an athletic background they can sometimes favor the sport they played. ...

This is actually an underrated thing out there in my experience. Not always, but there can be some serious meathead favoritism when an AD has played a certain sport and doesn't have the same respect for other programs.

Im not sure Cav will be allowed a transition year, I’m pretty comfortable in saying his seats the opposite of chilly.
I hope Cav develops a true second line vs playing musical chairs. We all knew we were in trouble last fall when he was still "cross" training starting OLs a few weeks before the opener.

There's more factors than just a position coach to yield a quality unit. Age, Health, Individual Commitment, Natural Athleticism, Experience, etc.

Agreed. I agree with cross training just not during fall practice.

Dino said going into the season that if injuries happen at a few key positions, we were going to have problems. Center turned out to be one of those positions, and they didn't have a guy ready to play the spot. And they knew it going in. Hence the cross-training.

Regarding finding guys that can snap the ball from the C spot, how in the world can they not practice this on their own or with another center or even a QB? Seriously, 2 guys can simply snap to each other and practice/critique one another. I know there is more to the position than that but that part is huge.

Hard disagree here. I'd rather have my 6th best OL that's a tackle step in at guard than the natural guard that's our 9th best OL. There's a reason the Patriots have had one of the best OLs in the NFL under BB.

You should always cross train, but where it all fell apart is you had a tackle who lost weight to play tackle jump back to center and playing at a much lower weight than he was accustomed to and threw off the whole line.
