Even the TV announcers couldn't believe what happened. They said the call on us was questionable. They said the call that wasn't made was an obvious penalty.

You can defend Dino all you like, the annual penalties speak for themself. At some point the HC is to blame.

The worst call ever when they converted the 4th down with Hackett at Clemson and they called that back and the Late hit out of bounds for the flag on their qb. Those 2 plays go Cuse way and who knows what happens after that. Crazy

Things happen for a reason. I completely believe that we are in a much better position now going forward. I am 100% happy that a change happened at the HC as it was needed and long overdue for the success of the program and its future.

I’m sorry but ACC refs didn’t stop Dino from game planning or in-game adjustments or time management or recruiting or running up the gut twice and bomb it down the sidelines on 3rd down.

Its not. He was relieved of play calling duties his last stint as an OC. He froze numerous times as SUs coach. Dino has many excellent traits which ice also praised him for over the years but during tough situations in games he has often struggled with making decisions.

Agreed. Imagine if we get the win that Dungey season, when we won 10 games. That would have given us back-to-back wins over Clemson, and possibly signaled a changing of the guard in our division. At the very least, it would have been another huge moment for the program, and made what ended up being a "Dram" season anyway even more exciting and rarified.

That play on the OOB was terrible, but I've come to the realization that we just aren't going to get calls in key situations in this conference, playing games in the south. We essentially lost @ FSU Shrader's first year, on a non-called, blatant holding penalty. If WE'D had the ball in that situation, and had a badly beaten OT drag down a guy from behind before he could sack the QB for a big loss, there is zero doubt in my mind that a flag would have been thrown.

The thread is about DINO, I correctly pointed out that OB incidents had nothing to do with his coaching . I like Dino but in the end he couldn’t get to where the program needed to be. However the bile that some posters have for the guy is astounding to me….. well knowing this board , I guess it really isn’t.

Late OB hits (even if it's just running into someone) is a penalty and therefore a discipline issue.
