Dino's Game 3 Press Conference | Purdue

I think he's frustrated with the injuries starting again, our best player and maybe our best Olineman going down. We're right at our average, 2 games, 2 major losses. I can't blame him for being salty.
Oh no, I agree. I was just making the observation that he was saltier than normal, I totally understand and I agree 100%. I think he knows this is maybe his best team if they can stay healthy and he saw a really solid team last year fall apart due to injuries, so it has to be eating at him

DB usually only gives updates recently if the player is out for the season and that is not guaranteed. He will not say anything about OG or Wolenbaugh because he’s hoping Purdue has to spend time preparing for them defensively.

Won't know anything until we see the travel roster Saturday night. If More and Ellis travel that's a great sign.

Yep. If they are out for an extended period, he'll probably say it at Monday's press conference for Army week. No point in saying something now.

VT lost their best receiving threat, Ali Jennings to a similar injury. That effected VT's offense the rest of the game.

It seems unreal at this point. My decades of watching Syracuse football and I can’t ever recall so many early season injuries derailing the season year after year after year. Even with greater depth this year how do you replace a future NFL talent? We won’t even know what the impact of losing him might be because we haven’t played anyone significant yet. Frustrating all around
Yes, frustrating as a fan and it has to be as a coach. I think Babers thinks he has a pretty good team and knows they can perform well if they can avoid injuries. What are the chances of our AA receiver going down in the first series of just our second game? The probability is probably low, yet it happened. It just sucks for all of us who were looking forward to watching him play this year, plus it throws a wrench into the coaches gameplanning. Hopefully it’s not season ending and maybe we get him back sooner than we might expect. We’ll see.

If the NFL forces teams to switch to grass fields, after the Rodgers injury seems like the talk again. I wonder if NCAA would/could follow suit. To me that seems like it would be SU’s luck lol

if you look at the pure numbers turf is only slight higher.. But then at lot of things go into the numbers that gets lost

where are the games played and when matters

do players where cleats that allow them to make harder cuts because you can on turf?

are games begin played later in the year at the same rate on grass/turf?

Just watched the presser.

Thought the question Brent attempted to ask was almost incoherent. I suspect he had no idea what he was going to say when he started and it showed.

That kind of thing is unacceptable for that setting.

I think Dino was letting him know that. Thought he was pretty nice about it.

Members of the press should be capable of making sensible and clear questions. I have no issues calling them out when they can't meet this standard.

I think perhaps the most important question we can be asking is, how healthy is Ellis, is he ready to play, might he start, and how effective can he be in his first start this year? This all presumes that Ellis would indeed get the start if healthy. I think he would and he’d have a major positive impact on the line.

If he plays, do you put him at RG or LG and bump Bleich over to RG where he’s probably more comfortable. But, of course, Bleich has been penalty prone, so would moving him to a new spot be a bad decision? Either way, I believe Ellis inserted into the lineup bolsters performance.

Then the $64,000 question is who starts at RT. I’ll be a bit surprised if it’s More. My gut tells me he’s struggled there, which leaves Petry. Can Petry hold up against better DEs? I think the weak link appears to be RT now since More can play RG and backup either Ellis or Bleich there.

Ellis is key at this point.

Purdue fan here (I come in peace) .. is Dino always this salty with your press guys? Kinda amusing, but seems like he doesn’t like them very much.

BTW on the turf .. yes, we do still have real grass turf, but this year switched to a new version this year that should be a little faster than the old turf (switched from a more bluegrass base to bermuda base that is more similar to what Kansas City has).
Welcome.

All you gotta know is stay away from Anna. You do that and you can stay as long as you want pal.
