Not sure why it's so hard just to say "Jacobian came in and did some good things and you saw it. It's always good when younger guys can get reps and we always want competition at every position. Rex and Jacobian both bring a lot to the table. Obviously this week we didn't get the result we wanted, but we'll be looking for production from the QB position to help us turn the corner and us coaches have some work to do as well. It's a total team effort."

Dino can hate the media. Say nothing and not be an absolute ahole.
I don’t want to criticize Dino as I like but my god he doesn’t care and you know if he doesn’t care.
Then screw him.
How he doesn’t get this is just pure arrogance from him.
 
Actually if he did fumble you could at least look to it and say, this kid is so far beyond even capable of handling a snap that there is not a chance he ever gets one all season and Rex will never leave the game , which is why he was in for so long.
 
If Dino absolutely killed the press conference would you be happy?
The loss hurts. His words have no effect. (And I get what he's saying).
 
Dino is always so concerned with protecting information. Why not say, yes, we will take a hard look at our personnel this week and practice and put in the players we feel give us the best chance to win. Let the other team think you might play JacobIan. Or maybe he’s saying publicly it’s Rex all the way but inside he’s saying, JacobIan is starting. We will see.
 
What's the difference in a 5th year senior making mistakes then a true freshman ...

Maybe Morgan has had trouble holding on to the ball in practice. It's the first thing that occurred to me when I heard him say that.

I suspect his words and actions to the kid are far more than what he says to the Syracuse Post-Standard, which are likely to protect the kid from getting too much expectation given how "meh" Culpepper is playing.

Given what DeVito turned out to be, Dino may have the yips with speaking publicly highly of a QB we have not seen much of.
 
I wonder if he just doesn't like dual threat QBs. He had no choice with Dungey. But, it seems like he wants to avoid them like the plague, no pun intended.

His press conference isn’t for Syracuse Post-Standard he can treat the media with the contempt they deserve.
He is talking to the fans, alumni of Syracuse.
His behavior was pathetic.

I am sure it is harder to run his full O with one. Dual threats tend to not be the best passers in the world. They will beat you with their legs or with the deep ball. I rather have a playmaker who can make things happen with 75% of the system than a pocket passer with 100% of the system. I think that is true at ANY school. Even more so at ours. Dino's system has failed to really take off in 5 years. So either the system isn't as good as he thinks, or he can't get the kids here that he needs. Either way it is not going to work how he planned and he needs to adapt one way or the other.

I think the team has been so bad that many fans won't bother even watching. If there is a FR QB then maybe they tune in. When you can't be competitive with mediocre teams for more than 2.5 Qs, it is hard to watch.

It’s more the overall atmosphere that he gives towards the media. Everything is cloak and daggers and everything is hush hush
 
Are we even sure that Jacobian is better than Dillon? I haven't seen much about either of them and I wouldn't read this as a statement that Jacobian will be the next guy after Tommy next year...

One word response to this: “EGO”... he does have a pretty big ego especially after hearing these responses. One of my favorite phrases he used to use was “We need to drop the E and just GO”... he should actually put that phrase into reality bc that presser did him NO favors.

That’s not it at all. Fans just want to be treated like adults and told the truth not some BS that isn’t true or some silly movie analogy. I can accept a coach saying that “I’m not going to answer that question,” I can’t accept someone BSing me and talking to me like I’m an idiot.

Exactly. I have zero expectations for this season and Dino is doing his darnest to piss on patient fans.
