Dino's Presser after Wake

His press conference isn’t for Syracuse Post-Standard he can treat the media with the contempt they deserve.
He is talking to the fans, alumni of Syracuse.
His behavior was pathetic.

So a press conference is for - wait for it - the media. Hence the name.

Call in with a question on Thursday night. Would love to hear your observation after that.

But I hear you. A record of 1-and-too many sucks.I don't know what I could hear to be satisfied when we have been wiped out of the second half of every game but two so far. But I don't care how he decides to talk about a player, whether it's after what Taj did two weeks ago or #15 did in one drive. Actions and results matter most and that's what's most concerning.

The biggest difference I saw between QBs is that Rex was throwing simple passes into the dirt and Morgan was the throwing simple passes into the numbers.

Both guys threw simple 1 step drop passes to the outside. 1 guy struggled throwing them and one guy didn’t.

Rex might know the whole playbook but he can only function with about 5% of it and he can’t make a routine throw so what does it matter how much he knows. The short drops and quick throws doesn’t require a 4th year junior. It requires someone who can make the throws and then hand the ball off bfd.

To me, Morgan’s passes had a lot more zip on them compared to Rex. And he moved pretty well the one scramble he had to make. He has great size. Garbage time I know but I’m sure many fans want to start to build hope for the future. We know what we have in Rex and his time is coming to an end. Play them both. Give them each half a game. I’d even be happy with that.

If Dino absolutely killed the press conference would you be happy?
The loss hurts. His words have no effect. (And I get what he's saying).
His words absolutely have affect. He is the head coach. As others said you do not have to gush over Morgan but his comments were ridiculous. All he had to say is he did well but he’s young and knows he has a number of things to work on.

Look guys there are a lot of things to pick at but what DB said about Morgan is not one of them. Every coach I ever had would talk like that. You can’t overhype the next guy you have to keep him motivated. It was 1000 percent the right thing to say

Come on. PLENTY of other ways Dino could have spoken about Morgan. It was literally the only bright spot of the game. How about “Morgan did a great job coming in during the 4th quarter. Kid went 7-7 and a TD. He’s got a lot to work on but we will continue to give him reps to keep developing him in our system.”

Simple. Maybe we can find him a movie quote to use. Guy is in his own world.

You left out one of the most moronic quotes that I have ever heard from a Division 1 football coach:

“I’m always going to try to play for a winning season,” Babers said. “The best way to have a winning season is to have as many upperclassmen as you can because those guys care more about winning than anyone else. No one wants to go out on a bad note.”

Enormous stretch here but go with me... underclassman want the opportunity to play sooner than later so therefore they care more about the play of the people ahead of them. If your team is playing poorly there is a chance you get in to play. Are you sold? Me either.

Since Dino is so preoccupied with making sure opponents don't know about player availability, what happens to our staff when a game starts and an opponent player is out? Is it just total panic and pandemonium on the sideline? Doe sit completely destroy our game plans? What happens exactly?

We know that answer, “no game tape”

The sthick is pretty stale. Has received a good deal of program support from the University - far more than I can remember with past coaches. Has shown he can win - with other coaches recruiting classes. Has not demonstrated the ability to recruit at an ACC level. in Year 5 the product is a dumpster fire from the standpoint of the current offensive depth, what is in the cupboard, and the execution and discipline of the team, Absolutely rooting for him to turn it around, but cannot help feeling the curtain is starting to fall hard on the Dino show.

It’s what you say when the other guy is turning the ball over
This is what I thought. It was a veiled dig at Rex's play, not a way to say that he was surprised that Morgan didn't fumble.

I had hope in 2017. Not much hope now as I don’t see any improvement esp. on the offensive side. We have regressed if anything on that side of the ball.
If he could cobble together an offensive line that can protect Devito and open some running lanes...the offense would look totally different.

We are super young on both side of the ball but we have talent.

Now is the time for patience.

But he has to get the Oline fixed. Otherwise it is all moot.
