Dino's Week 4 LSU Press Conference Notes / Depth Chart

Is this really a possibility? Why wait to get to him more involved in the offense? I feel like we are waiting to unleash teen wolf based on what I read on here. If he is really that much of a difference maker we could have used him for the Middle Tennessee game.
Absolutely, the short middle was open a lot during the MTSU game and we should have tried it a few times with Pierce.

Remind me me again when Black reaches the status/production of those two.

He's a Soph. Gotta start somewhere.
Neither of those guys were destroyers of worlds as Sophs.

My overall point still stands - you don't need to be huge to be able to have success on the D-line in college.

difference between "could be" those guys and is ready to match production. 721Comstock point was that size isn't always a limiting factor and he's right. Who knows how good a DT he'll be?

We've moved on from grumpy sarcasm. That was last week. We're onto guarded optimism.

Sorry, sarcasm never stops. But since you mentioned it..

I expect LSU to win this relatively handily. I don't think we get blown out, but consistently down around 2 scores. If we can get out of there with no major injuries and some things to build from moving forward against teams more aligned talent-wise with us, I will consider it a success (the ultimate success is obviously the W).

We can't come out slow like our last two games, however. Not against this team in this venue. I think our defense will be okay against their offense, mainly the passing O, but we can't give LSU short fields to work with (turnovers, poor ST play). I also want to see more plays down the field, maybe strike early with a long ball, a trick play perhaps.

Above all else, I want to see intensity all game!

I think that's more likely than not. Most places have us at 9% chance of a win.

If we do pull an upset for the ages, we'll need them to lay an even bigger stink bomb than last week and we'll need to suddenly have a whole game like the last 3rd Q against a much better and talented team. I do think our D will hold somewhat (that feels weird even saying it). They've been okay and LSU is not humming under Canada yet.

I don't think poor special teams play is a given. Our punter is an NFL guy and our little returner has been very good on KO's.

On O, I think we test the edge running more, use some misdirection to keep them off balance. I think those screens to the sideline will be way less effective. LSU D got tired last week, so I'd expect a lot of tempo.

I tried to tell people Black was going inside.
I see josh putting on a lot of weight this off season. His frame could easily handle another 30 40 lbs and keep his explosiveness. He is a big guy but not that guy that has maxed out his frame. I'm sure with how well he has done this past off season and now this season he will play mostly inside and they will work to maximize his size.

If his next offseason is like McKinley Williams...watch out.

Adding weight to a 6'3 250 pound frame is the blueprint to getting faster and athletic interior lineman. Lateral movement is a must. ACC schemes make you play the whole field. It's easier to add weight to athletic frames then trying to get 5 star lineman to commit.

Does anybody know if the ref crew is acc or sec? I noticed both mtsu and cmu both had there conferences officiating, the calls they where making where obviously favoring those teams.

I've been in the camp that we haven't played his card yet. Not even sure we see it this weekend. I think HCDB might feel out the first half see if we have a chance or not before opening up the playbook.
why would he do that???? the time is here now not later. i hope he does not do that.

I think visiting teams are allowed their conference's refs.

Usually yes (Saturday's game will use ACC officials), but not always.
