Dino's Week 5 Clemson Press Conference

Glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way. I do appreciate his sealed-lip, even-toned pressers most of the time but I really felt kind of...sad almost after this one. Could also be because I've been having anxiety over this game since Saturday night, lol, but yeah. Not great feelings here.

Could be he doesn't want to be putting up bulletin board material.

It's one thing to talk about annihilating teams going into UConn, it's another when it's a CFP contender on the road.

maybe but i don't think clemson would be fooled that easily, particularly after last year. it struck me more that he was temporing fans expectations.

I think that this is the first year since Dino's been here where we have the talent at most of the 1 spots and the depth to absorb some injuries and really really have a shot to compete and win.

Not saying we will but I think we have a legitimate shot.

Home field will be theirs of course but if the kids can hang in there and weather the early storm, I think we have a shot.

I think he's sandbagging. I would bet he's not telling the team that behind the scenes. He, and Mr. Eric Dungey want this one bad.

He might be Mike but I wonder if he just wants to make sure his team knows this is just one game and whatever happens it will remain just one game. He's thinking big picture and the emotions that go with this game can not flow negatively forward or getting a big head/ego if they do pull this out.

I do agree that you can't go all in on emotion which might hurt the team later if things don't go well this weekend. But I also believe (as I think you do) that if things don't go well he and the team will revert to their stated one game at a time mantra and reboot for the rest of the season.

Dino is very smart, and I think what he says for public consumption is a combination of motivation, gamesmanship, respect for Dabo and Clemson, and prepositioning for whatever the outcome.

If I'm a Clemson player, maybe I think these guys are coming in knowing they can't win. Maybe..

dino does not sound confident at all re clemson.. comments like it only counts as one game. when asked about the game previously he said "we will show up" . i did not like tone and affect that he had when he said it. lacked enthusiasm etc.--whats strikes me is that there is no need to say it only counts as one game ----he should save that for the presser if we lose

I think he is downplaying game so it looks like we don’t think we have chance. That team will be fired up and if they are not then maybe u were right but I think they will

I want our guys to come out very businesslike. Not overhyped. This is not our Super Bowl. This is a big game. Trust the game plan, stay focused, do your job and compete on every down. If I see that, win or lose, I will have a lot of confidence going forward the rest of the season.
