Dino's Week 8 Miami Press Conference Notes / Depth Chart/Injury Report

You know what is scary, especially on the defensive side of the ball, is that we have so many kids with not only 1 year of eligibility, but 2 years left. Obviously we are going to lose the heart and soul of the defense with Zaire and Parris, but luckily, imo that is where we have the most talent waiting in the wings.

This defense isn't going anywhere and with the way the offense is starting to click (funny just how and when Dino said it would) all they need to be is average. They have the ability to be much much better than average.

Why would you want to leave this? If Dino gets a nice, substantial raise, there really is no point.

Custis must be playing well in practice then because I sure feel like Butler is nailing down the spot.

The ceiling for Custis is higher, he's older, and he made a couple of plays last game. I don't know... But I do trust these coaches with WR decisions thats for sure

I hope like hell that Slayton comes back. That DL would be freaking killer even without the redshirts who will have had a year of s&c.

He doesnt have much time left and with the younger kid playing better I'm going with the younger kid. Custis has never done anything.

he is in line to redshirt

I'm pretty sure he got in against CCSU. I could be wrong about that, tho.

OK - I think I misremembered that there. :p

Was thinking about Stritz, who played like 2 snaps.

There are no significant changes from last week.

The status of three key defensive players, linemen Kendall Coleman, Josh Black and cornerback Scoop Bradshaw, will be updated Thursday evening.

Syracuse will be making its first trip to Miami since 2003. It is looking for its first victory at Miami since a 33-13 win on Nov. 29, 1997.

The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be nationally televised on ESPN.

custis brings somegthing Butler does not and thats a 2nd physical outside guy.. he has gotten deep every game he played. he needs to work on finishing the play but he gets a physical release that Butler does not yet.

We'll see. There's a reason the coaches haven't just given the job to Butler.
