Dion has changed

Someone defenetly needs to get inside his head.

If you keep running scenerios in your head they are going to happen. The brain is like a machine.

I heard a story the other day about a police man who went home and everyday did training practice by taking his gun from his wife and handing it back to her over and over. Sure enough a few years down the line he got stuck in that situation grabbed the gun and sure enough handed it right back to the criminal. No joke.

Im sure Dion dreams of lighting up the court and invisions the hole in the lane that teams are going to give him. Which I am ok with by the way. Especially after one exhibition game. But thats not the problem. Its a matter of If he finds out its not our best offense/mismatch on a particular night. Will he listen. Sure enough JB will pull him if he does, but those four possessions could make or break this team some nights, and him saying I'm not going to let that happen means he has faith but Im not so sure he is reffering to the gameplan.

I bet he is finally practicing harder in practice though. It was just one exhibition game and hasn't played organized coached basketball in over a year. Give him time.

He really should pull out the big ball with his three point shot. He gets so wide open to shoot them its not even funny. As should brandon who litterally put up twice as many shots in 15 minutes as last year.

You ok, man?? When I read your posts I imagine you are drunk and high in a basement somewhere.

Waiters would be a very good guard on a team that he could take 15 shots or more a game. I personally don't think he's a match for this team but he is a good player.

He was singled out because one of the Dion lovers made a false statement and he was all of the above you just mentioned.

It's always been an issue with you picking a favorite, just like JB, and whatever you see out there can't change your mind. In your mind, Dion is terrible. To most other observers, though, Brandon still lacks confidence, still drives into the lane with no idea what he's doing, and is a timid player. Dion has way more upside, and looked a lot more confident and comfortable out there to me than Triche did. Let's see if Brandon can hold on to his job if he starts out his first 12 games averaging 6 points a game like he did last year.

Read the other Dion comments here about his play the other night. I didn't even comment on it until you said he played like a star, was taking over the starting spot and Coleman came here because of Triche. All false.

Waiters > Triche. I don't have a dog in the fight, so whoever plays better and helps us win is who I'm rooting for. Triche has the tools, but just can't put it together. Waiters has a lot to learn, but I think it's apparent he's the more talented and dynamic player.

Dion had a great rebound in the lane high above the crowd of big men. It was impressive until he dribbled up ignored a wide open Cooney who had just made a 3 and instead plowed into three defenders standing in the lane.

His jump shot looked horific. One went in and out the others were not even close.

He made one great drive and dish for an easy lay up. Forget who it was to.

He made an incredable and one that didn't count.

He is a great and entertaining dunker in the open floor.

He has a great handle, but guys play him to drive.

Triche made some nice plays and some bad ones with the ball in his hands.

He jumped as high as I have ever seen him do but as usual failed to but away that huge dunk.

He got to the right places and took the shots he should be taking.

He missed all his shots.

He made a horrible decision on the break. Then he busted his but and made a great steel and lay in.

He played very good defense.

He rebounded extremely well.

He was more agressive than last season.

The bottom line for both of these guys is that they are in "show me" territory.

Dion has all the physical tallent and a great handle but what will he do wiith it and can he make enough jumpers to even be defended outside. His percentage as a shooter was poor last season and if you consider that no one even attempted to guard him out beyond the 3 point line that 3pt % becomes even more alarming.

Triche playes good defense, knows our system and what he is suppossed to be doing out there. He seems to be a good shooter and well rounded player offensively. He's shown glimpses while being streaky and inconsistent. Can he be an agressive player and make his shot consistantly? Can he drive with a perpose and make good decisions.

I guess we will see on both guys. Its not Triche against Waiters as much as its taht we need a guard to emerge as a consistant scorring threat to play next to Scoop. We NEED that. I'll take it from either kid or both if we are lucky enough.

I only saw the second half, but I didn't really see anyone play particularly well. Melo had some good spurts, as did Baye, but everyone else looked pretty much like you would expect in a pickup game. Cooney and MCW weren't too bad. Mookie looked like he was just out there to work on his late-game fouling.

We never really ran any half-court sets, rather a few passes and put up a three and there wasn't much flow to the transition game. Man to man wasn't very strong as we let guys go by whenever they wanted.
