Discovering Dino: Parts 1-3 now available

These are really good reading and quite insightful. In my humble opinion, we are very fortunate to have Dino Babers as the head coach of Syracuse University Football and I hope he plants his flag with the Big Orange S in the ground and remains here. Nice job Nate Mink and Go Orange!!!!!!!!

This is a really good series of articles. Well done!

Agree. Great insight. The anecdote about almost quitting the profession and the grind of being an assistant while trying to raise a family is telling. All of this is a great reminder that Dino prioritizes a few things - 1) teaching young men / being a great coach 2) family and providing for those he cares about 3) getting to the top and being able to win and 4) to a lesser extent, cost of living. :)

Wildhack knows the gem he has in Dino and will continue to do whatever it takes to keep him. The extension last year and the fact he’s still here says a lot. You could hear it in his voice and his excitement over the community support in the Rome interview. That matters a lot to him and he can do something truly special here.

i didn't know he was 6'1". He looks so short next to all the giants who play for him

Yeah the more I read these things the more it makes me think we have a coach long term. From my keyboard to Gods ears!

Awesome job!! You know how people always ask you if there was one person that you would want to sit down and have lunch with, Dino would be that guy for me. He truly has passion for what he does and he is doing it the right way. Making men out of football players. We are very fortunate to have him as our coach.

He's going to retire here.
The second he opened up the Rome interview with “looks like Hawaii outside here” I thought that was the last straw. So many other indicators that have been mentioned but this sealed the deal for me.

Famous old JB quote right? Syracuse is like Hawaii in the summer? JB stayed a while.

“We’re down about 7-0 before he calls timeout,” Lyons said. “I look at him, like, timeout in a family game? Who made you coach?

I LOL'd at this. Could picture me and my close friends doing this later in life.

I don't think he's going anywhere. Think he builds his own legacy here.

as long as he wasn't in Rome's studio when he said it. ;)
