It varies from recruiting service to recruiting service, as far as I can tell, but I don't have a definitive answer to your question. Sometimes, the top 15 to 20 guys are 5 stars (in hoops or football), other times, it's fewer, say the top 5 to 10, whether we're talking about On3 or elsewhere. Either way, top 15 is impressive...

If he is ranked in the top 15 on any site, eventually he will be a 5 star on that site. Bottom line, if we can land this young man, it will be a huge step. Calvin Russell, as well. If we can get these two guys and a number of other 4 stars, this 2026 class will be the launching point.

Sadly, that's probably true. I have seen on some sites, Calvin Russell is not listed with interest in Syracuse. By all accounts, we are in his top 2. That is some shoddy "reporting".

Calvin Russell is highly interested in Syracuse, and as far as I can tell, 'Cuse is one of the favorites to land him. These recruiting rankings tend to ebb and flow, and sometimes I see more 5 stars in the composite rankings (247S Composite, On3 Industry Ranking) than in the individual rankings from 247, On3, Rivals and ESPN.

The 2 for 2 has been the dream package deal I’ve been thinking of since I realized that. Who knows if they are actually close like that to go to the same school despite being from the same high school and both being heavily recruited by us.
