There is no cap on the number of OVs a player can go on now, and he just started doing his OVs on May 30th (UGA, Miami, FL, FSU, and Texas this weekend).

Doesn’t look like he has set a commitment date yet, so I don’t see any reason to think we won’t get an OV.

Edit: Although I may have neglected to factor in the recruiting calendar - not sure how that might affect things.

The 2 for 2 has been the dream package deal I’ve been thinking of since I realized that. Who knows if they are actually close like that to go to the same school despite being from the same high school and both being heavily recruited by us.

Yeah I know Johnson transferred in for this final year but if absolutely nothing else - building a good relationship with the coaching staff is a great silver lining.

That's an excellent point. I don't have a great feeling about either Johnson or Russell at this juncture, but you never know with the portal, plus, as you say, Syracuse is recruiting the Sunshine State hard, and in particular, Miami Northwestern! It's a terrific HS program.

Dead period starts next week and runs through the end of July. Kids can always take an OV after the Dead Period.

Looks like Georgia is trending to land Johnson. Really not a bad thing to lose recruitments to them. We vouch for them and they vouch for us. We could be in good position to get him in the portal if he can’t get playing time (don’t think that will be the case though) and needs a reset.

If it doesn’t work out for him he can pull a Duce and come back with a bag of money and if it does work out for him well he’s golden. Win / win.
