May or may not have been about money. Probably more to due with the offer and possibly staff changes. There have never been guard rails to prevent this situation as players have always been able to decommit from schools at this time since they are only verbally committed.

As I noted above, and others have said, with a lot of defensive staff changes will come some verbal de-commitments. Plus, he's from the Philadelphia area, so with Penn State pushing hard for him, this is hardly a surprise.
