Does anyone else think we will be better next year?

I know someone brought this up in another thread but Nathan Knight at William and Mary is dominating at C. Hometown is Syracuse. And would be great if we could get him if he transfers to go to a bigger program

You must have missed the recent thread where a brilliant poster declared Oshae to be our best player. It was really funny, I might try to find it and read it again right now for a laugh.

Oh man, i havent been as active as in the past. I guess I'm not missing out on much

Super young team, but I have a feeling we could definitely compete in the top 4 of the ACC. We will play much faster I imagine with Goodine and Carey. Guerrier looks to be a beast, Ajak can shoot the three, and obviously Girard does what he does. If Oshae, Marek, HW stay I feel like we could be much better next year than this year. The trip to Italy is very good for the young team also

We're fans. We always think we'll be better next year...or not.

everybody sleeping on bras in this thread. he could add a badly needed dose of team speed to the rotation.

biggest issue is pg. everybody counting on jc who has proven only that he either is not ready or simply cannot do the job. he will have to take a major step forward if he is to start. do not rule out jg to start, he will have a legit shot.

center is a problem, but i have a feeling that between a bulked up 192 pound marek and sid, ajak, and maybe a third that we will be no worse than this season.

losing ty will be big, ty wins us some games by himself, but he is too erratic to be a legit star. between hughes stepping up and qg he might be replaceable.

all in all, no way we leap into the acc top four.

treading water would be a successful season.

You are betting everything on a young team? Guys who have never played the zone?
We don't even know how well they are capable of playing at the college level. Or as a team.
I would hope everyone learned a lesson with the early promotion of Carey this year.

Some of our best teams have been young. it depends on what they bring to the table.

It will be a different team. Having the entire starting line-up back this year was in some ways a problem because it meant we would be the same team, with young players having limited ability to make a difference. And more of the returning players were on the down elevator than on the up.

Who on next year’s team is able to create a shot against elite defensive players? Battle struggled against good defensive players and we have no one next year with his shot making ability against good defense. To be successful, the offense will have to have purposeful movement designed to free up good shooters. Players will have to help each other to get open. Good passing and unselfishness are a prerequisite. Having an offenseive post presence would make it easier, but it doesn’t seem likely next year.

Battle is big. He's not particularly fast and lacks high level ballhandling. His stepback is good, but his crossover is slow and predictable.

We don't have to replace our star, volume shooter with a star, volume shooter. It can be done in aggregate and it's probably better that way. The ball movement this season is bad and Battle is a part of that. With more team speed and more ballhandlers - which we'll have next season - the team could play much more efficiently on the offensive end.
