Zero experiance at any level coaching an OL. Not pee wee not HS not college. Unreal that he would be provided with this job. I like HCSS and feel as if he is going to do well but Wow. I mean what the hell was he thinking

what has he taught in his coaching career?

edit looked at his bio:

Your next target, kc? Aim higher.

No chance ... Looking at three changes to O staff and one to D

McDonald
Adams
Smith

Reed

Nope, still not high enough.

Targeting Smith and Adam is like blaming the horses for the massacre at Little Big Horn.
lol

The problem is experience at this level (P5). Only Shafer, Bullough, McDonald and Lea have any outside of SU- and one will be leaving. We are trying to win with coaches that are learning on-the-job. Some even lack real 1A experience. I just don't get it.

I wouldn't say that this is a spectacular coaching profile for a D1 offensive line coach...but he had way more coaching experience than Hackett did when he was hired by Marrone to coach the most important position on the field. I guess this is just the way SU does things.

I'm past the stupid injury excuse.

But too say the injuries did not play an effect on the line would be unfair.

Huh? The OL was completely healthy vs a Nova DL we had out weighed by 50lbs/per man and they won that battle. The OL has been fully healthy the last 2 weeks, and have been historically bad. There were 2 games in which the OL was missing more then 1 starter.

This was brought up when he was first hired. Will find the posting. Was a joke then, still is a joke now.

This guy basically won the lottery, compliments of Syracuse University... How do you make a hire like this?
Because he spent 1 year with you as a grad assistant @ W.Michigan??? What...

Nick Robinson was out for the Nova game and Palmer was playing out of position.

The old saying - "you get what you pay for and you deserve what you get".

Shafer's view of leadership - "we are all friends so we must be good coaches" experiment is starting to crack at the seams. Joe Adams hire was a What in my book.

I give this year a punt but the seat has warmed...

zero chance he gets canned after Shafer just took him out of a head coaching position.
