True. I suppose he could move things around a bit.zero chance he gets canned after Shafer just took him out of a head coaching position.

Hard to see any movement besides McDonald's departure (not counting people willingly leaving for a diff school).True. I suppose he could move things around a bit.
I think that there is a saying. Something along the lines of two wrongs dont make a...I wouldn't say that this is a spectacular coaching profile for a D1 offensive line coach...but he had way more coaching experience than Hackett did when he was hired by Marrone to coach the most important position on the field. I guess this is just the way SU does things.
Yeah, I know, if someone leaves there might be something that makes sense. The problem is, of course, that he really is very inexperienced at everything. If they could care out a ST coaching job that might be the answer. Acosts has some experience caching WR. Then hire a OL coach with real experience.Hard to see any movement besides McDonald's departure (not counting people willingly leaving for a diff school).
I thought it was personal as in family.anyone know why pearls left? Im drawing a blank here, was it because he didn't fit in? Because its clear the line was much better last year and we really only lost 1 player. He is currently a player personal scout in Tampa.

EDIT: he is a friend of CB who pressed HCSS to hire him.
Very interesting. contrast this staff with Marrone's. He went heavy on the side of experience, including NFL.The problem is experience at this level (P5). Only Shafer, Bullough, McDonald and Lea have any outside of SU- and one will be leaving. We are trying to win with coaches that are learning on-the-job. Some even lack real 1A experience. I just don't get it.
Huh? The OL was completely healthy vs a Nova DL we had out weighed by 50lbs/per man and they won that battle. The OL has been fully healthy the last 2 weeks, and have been historically bad. There were 2 games in which the OL was missing more then 1 starter.
Zero experiance at any level coaching an OL. Not pee wee not HS not college. Unreal that he would be provided with this job. I like HCSS and feel as if he is going to do well but Wow. I mean what the hell was he thinking
The OL was not completely Healthy vs Nova. Robinson was out, Trudo was playing out of position at RG instead of LG and Palmer was at LG.
They were playing banged up all year regardless of the depth chart.
The Starters were:
LT Hickey
LG Trudo
C Miller
RG Robinson
RT Foy
Palmer has played in games that Robinson has been healthy. There isn't much of a difference between Robinson and Palmer. The OL production shouldn't fall of a cliff because of that move.
Your facts were wrong and I think there is a fairly big difference between the two. Palmer is the guy that Aaron Donald knocked on his butt to block the PAT that lost the Pitt game last year. Palmer is a weak link.Palmer has played in games that Robinson has been healthy. There isn't much of a difference between Robinson and Palmer. Palmer is 303 and Nick is 279. Palmer is just not much good. I think you just have this one wrong. While that's certainly true, he was a redshirt freshman, and Aaron Donald knocks everyone on their butt.
Palmer is a guy who needed time in the S&C program. Pretty much all of our OL do.

Sure, that may be correct, but this year he was a poor sub for Nick. Many of these guys played wounded like Foy who played on one leg all year.I'm not saying he's good. I'm just saying he needs more time. Strikes me as the type who probably shouldn't be playing until his 4th and 5th seasons. He still may end up being not good.

Lester should probably make that list. Our QB development hasn't been good, and it's not like Lester is a good OC, either. At the very least, Lester should be demoted back to QB's and recruiting. No chance ... Looking at three changes to O staff and one to D
McDonald
Adams
Smith
Reed
The timing and circumstances in which HCDM and HCSS were very different.Very interesting. contrast this staff with Marrone's. He went heavy on the side of experience, including NFL.
Yes, but he owns it from here. The timing and circumstances in which HCDM and HCSS were very different.
Saying that he (and Shafer) need more time reminds me of what Denzel said to the Mexican police captain in Man on Fire.I'm not saying he's good. I'm just saying he needs more time. Strikes me as the type who probably shouldn't be playing until his 4th and 5th seasons. He still may end up being not good.
