Does this team have 16-11 in them

If I’m being 100% honest, and I’m not trying to downplay how horrid that loss was..

We could have been a top 25 team and I’d still say we have a toss up chance of losing to a garbage pitt at pitt.

For whatever reason, we slip on that banana peel annually and its not a recent woe.

That said we also have other garbage losses.
Had won 3 of the last 4 at Pitt going into the game last week, I’m not sure that’s annually slipping up.

Yeah, Buddy has had some good games this year, but not like last night.

Last night's performance was reminiscent of last year, when he was feeling it, scoring in a multitude of ways, and dialed in from three. The kind of games he started having at the end of last season / the postseason, where he could put the team on his back.

You could see it in his eyes on a couple of drives. We need more of that.

The only thing consistent about this team this year has been inconsistency. Seems like every aspect of basketball has cost them a game or two this season.

At this point my primary goal is that we're 11-11 after a trip to Raleigh Wednesday night.

NC St has been a favorable matchup for us of late so hopefully that continues.

We had a lot of people get in the lane last night and either kicked it for an open threes or dump downs to our bigs. We we’re more active on both ends. They looked like a different team. Now we have to go on the road for a 9:00 game and play with the same energy even if our shots don’t fall as often. The big question with this team is can they bear down on defense if shots aren’t falling?
Fully agree hoopsupstate - the movement last night on both ends was like watching a different team. We haven't seen those weakside to strongside anticipatory rotations into passing lanes in years. Postgame, Buddy talked about "baiting" passes into the high post area. I'm positive that's part of the defensive plan, we just haven't seen it.

Hope it continues

9-9 since 2015

Unfortunately I think our lack of quality wins combined with some very bad losses puts any bubble or at large talk completely out of the realm of possibilities at this point in time. There’s only a couple of quality win opportunities left in the ACC, and those probably won’t be enough even if we were able to win. We’d basically have to lose only one more regular season game and make a deep ACCt run to even be part of the conversation.

I think NIT is a more realistic ceiling for this team if they can get close to 18 wins.
Let's say we beat Duke (same side bracket in the ACCt whether championship game semis). Are we in? Or we beat Duke on our home court AND the ACCt - do you think we are in?

We shot over 50% from the floor and three.

I don’t think it was a coincidence that Jimmy’s FGA were basically half of what he usually has.

Can’t expect Buddy to shoot like that every game, not fair to him.

You are right that when shots drop, our D picks up. Human nature.

Would like JB to keep getting the bench guys some burn.

What I would like to see is Jesse, Joe and Cole step up if Buddy isn’t hitting shots early.

Don’t need all American performances. Just need them to be solid.

When Buddy’s on like last night, text your friends, heat check after heat check.

It’s fairly simple. We have 10 regular seasons games left. If we lose two or more games there is no scenario where we get in. Doesn’t matter if we beat Duke or not. If by some miracle we manage to go 9-1 headed into the ACCt, that will put us in the bubble conversation, but dependent on our ACCt performance.

I personally think if this team makes the NIT it should be considered a good accomplishment.

According to Barttorvik we have a 6% chance of going 6-0
That is based on a baseline of how we have played to date. So if we are in a bit better form the odds are a bit better.

Overall, Barttorik has us with a probable win record of 4-2 (projected 3.94 wins)

In what? If you're referring to the NCAA Tournament, Dino has bowl game tickets for you. The NIT will say no.
As to 16-11, check out 2/12 first. That's got L all over it
We're 10-11. There are very few scenarios where we are in.

In what? If you mean the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, please call Dino to get some bowl tickets. Even the NIT is a no. And relative to 16-11, 2/12 is a problem

It will take a miracle finish to make the dance. Winning season and we will make the NIT.

It’s harder to make the NIT these days due to auto bids given to regular season conference winners that don’t make the NCAA. I think 17-15 wouldn’t cut it. Probably need 18 wins for the NIT.

This team is not as bad as the Pitt game and not as good as last night. The ACC stinks and we have a lot of winnable games left. I think we can keep the winning record streak alive but that’s about it.

Considering they are 22-77 in conference play since 2016 that is just absolutely awful.

Even worse that means they have 13 total wins vs the rest of the conference since then...

No !
Simply not gonna happen!
I haven’t changed my mind because of one good outing.
Hope I’m wrong, truly don’t want to be right on this one.

We need to be very careful with Boston College. We are a better team. But if we make too many mistakes, we can easily lose to BC. BC just beat Pitt today. That shows they can play.

6-0 possible because the ACC this year has probably the most underwhelming collection of teams of any league SU has played in since I started watching 'Cuse hoops in 1983.
